The Zonta Club of Pierre-Fort Pierre is a member of Zonta International. Zonta International is a leading global organization of individuals working together to build a better world for women and girls. The Pierre-Fort Pierre Club is a service club that generates money from the sale of booths at a Fall Craft and Vendor Show. The money raised goes to scholarships, grants to local organizations and to make and serve a meal at a local community banquet. Members also participate in service-related events such as a community garden plot to raise fresh vegetable for the local food pantry, a closet of gently used professional clothing for women and collecting donations for the local domestic violence center.

This program addresses physical, mental, and social health needs by connecting girls with service providers in the community. Girls are referred to the program by school counselors, teachers, parents, and health and social service agencies. Each girl is assigned an advocate who will: Connect her with the appropriate medical, dental, and mental health care services within the community. Offer referrals for tutoring or other services to meet her individual needs. Work closely with her family and school to ensure her success. Assist her in learning and developing patterns of behavior that will enhance her health. Emphasize the value of regular school attendance and good study habits. Instill the importance of responsibility, self-esteem, and community involvement.

Provides information and assistance to the Faulk County Commission, to municipalities, and individuals on matters pertaining to response, recovery, mitigation, preparedness and other Emergency Management issues. Assists in the management of emergency situations. Assists with the disaster declaration process and works with State Emergency Management and FEMA during the response and recovery effort. County Emergency Managers can make contact with volunteer fire departments in their County.

Works to keep roadways safe and in good condition year-round. Handles snow plowing and pothole repair as well as street sweeping and storm drain maintenance. Installs and maintains traffic signs and pavement markings as well as mows and controls vegetation along right-of-ways.

Hy-Vee and Active Generations Nutrition Department partner together to offer "Your Choice Meals" - a hot nutritious meal for adults aged 60 and over, their spouse, and/or dependent adult living with them. The Hy-Vee "Your Choice" card offers the option of presenting pre-paid card at the Hy-Vee deli counter and selecting a meal from a designated menu. The diner can choose one meal per day.
