Responsible for Administration of the City Zoning Ordinance and the Huron Comprehensive Plan. Handling requests and questions regarding future planning, permitted land uses, required landscaping, site development, preliminary and final plats, and required parking. Assisting with questions and applications for variances, conditional use permits, and home occupations. Assisting the City Engineer in administration of the Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance and the Subdivision Ordinance. Ensuring that the Zoning Ordinance and Comprehensive Plan are accurate and current. Supporting the City Planning Commission and the Huron Board of Historic Preservation. Specifically, this Department handles the following complaints: unmowed grass, lack of snow removal from sidewalks, accumulation of junk/garbage.

Provides assessments and therapy for individuals, groups, families, of all ages. Services address alcohol abuse and addiction, sexual abuse, spiritual abuse, marriage problems, family problems, adolescent and child adjustment, anxiety, grief, eating disorders, physical abuse, emotional abuse, delinquency problems, parent-child conflicts, stress, depression, spiritual needs, and mid-life issues. Offers telehealth sessions only if it is covered by insurance and client is located in state at the time of the call. Preference is for the first appointment to be face-to-face.

Acts as an advocate and provides assistance to military veterans and their dependents in determining eligibility and applying for various federal and state benefits. Provides transportation to medical appointments for veterans through Prairie Hills Transit. Veterans first must set up an account. Appointments should be scheduled for late morning or early afternoon due to the long drive.

Providing resources and support for individuals with dementia and their caregivers.

Grocery departments consists of meat, deli, dairy, frozen foods, produce, pantry, health and beauty, and general merchandise. Offers some grocery delivery; call store for more information.

Provides individual counseling services working with clients ages 14 and up with autism spectrum, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, attachment disorders, relationship issues, grief and loss. Services include individual counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), adolescent/youth counseling, parent counseling, and internet (tele-health) counseling.

Providing emergency-based shelter for homeless male veterans of the Pine Ridge area. Will coordinate other services such as Financial literacy classes, Home ownership classes, employment search, Resume' development, and connections to support services as requested.

Providing prevention education to area schools, community events for both youth and adults on topics ranging from drug abuse awareness to mental health, distribute education and resources both online and in-person activities, and organize area citizens to educate, empower, and encourage involvement. Also able to provide access to mental health services.

Services consists of physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.

Serves as a resource for campus community members and provides opportunities for all to feel welcome.  Focuses on partnering with students to develop and implement programming that complements their classroom experience. Serves as a bridge for strategic partnerships that result in increased access, persistence, retention and success of students. Assists multicultural student organizations and serves as a resource to help them accomplish their organizational goals.

Urgent care services include treatment for acute illnesses and pain; work related injuries, cuts, wounds, fractures, and sprains; school, sport and camp physicals; and x-ray/laboratory testing.

Community outpatient mental health facility. Provides mental health services to children, adolescents and adults. Services include but are not limited to psychiatric care and evaluations, children's services, group and individual counseling, play therapy, aggression management, and more.

Eligible participants may receive a voucher, which is used to purchase garden seeds and/or live plants which helps to ensure that the participating households have access to fresh fruits and vegetables, which helps them to maintain nutritional well-being. If funding allows, the participants can also purchase canning or preserving supplies so that they can save some of the produce for use in future months.

Provides resources, education networking, and events for the LGBTQ+ community. ​Some events include Black Hills Pride Festival, Black Hills Youth Pride, Transgender Day of Remembrance events, Drag Shows, Pride Prom, Transgender Day of Visibility events, Rainbow 5k Color Run, Closet Pop-Ups, and Halloween parties. Also have support groups and volunteer opportunities.

Provides independent living and assisted living services including the following: medication reminders, 24-hour awake staff, dietary services, laundry and housekeeping services, bathing assistance, organized activities and exercise programs, fellowship, church services, and 24-hour assistance with personal care.

Aquatics division services include fitness classes, CPR classes, babysitting classes, lifeguard courses, and American Red Cross health and safety courses.

The animal control department assists in getting or renewing pet licenses.

Promotes equal access by providing education and awareness of fair housing laws. Seeks to resolve allegations of illegal discrimination through education and informal resolution. Awareness includes: Fair housing issues with discrimination in housing because of race, color, national origin, religion, gender, familial status (families with children) and disability Disability rights in housing, including rights involving assistance animals Provides free training to tenants, landlords, property managers, and/or any interested individuals as it relates to fair housing laws and rights and responsibilities in housing.

Provides necessary clothing and household items to those in need or due to fire/house damage. Items include clothing, coats, shoes, small household items, and books.

Designed to help people living in rural communities learn about long-term services support, how to help someone with routine tasks such as bathing or brushing teeth, and how caregivers need to prepare for emergency situations. The course is free for all participants.

Indoor walking track, basketball, volleyball, & pickle ball courts. Theater and full serving kitchen. Receptions, meetings, weddings, sporting events, reunions, dances and parties can be held here.
