The Weed Department is responsible for weed control on all county properties located outside the corporate limits of any municipalities. The Weed Department maintains the appropriate weed control equipment and chemicals. The Supervisor also maintains records of weed and pest infestations, as well as control measures taken. The Weed Supervisor obtains bids for appropriate chemicals and equipment for weed control.
The Weed Department controls weeds on township and railroad property when such entities request it. The Weed Department also bills out all work done for other entities to the appropriate entity on a timely basis. The Supervisor is responsible to take the appropriate measures to control nuisance weeds on private property in accordance with state statute. He is also responsible for the record keeping and appropriate billing.

The Ryan White Part C program helps HIV positive people who live in Eastern SD to access primary health care. All patients who apply for the Part C Program will have access to case management services. The case managers help people with HIV/AIDS find services they need such as medical care, health insurance assistance, assistance with paying for medications, financial help, food/nutrition assistance, housing, referral to substance use treatment programs and/or mental health services, transportation, and other types of services. The Part C Program is a payer of last resort. Patients that are eligible for compensation through other programs, such as Medicare, Medicaid, or private health insurance, must first access assistance through those programs.
Funds are available to assist with primary care, lab testing, emergency prescriptions, outpatient mental health therapy, outpatient substance abuse treatment, dental care, transportation, outpatient nutritional services, and medical and non-medical case management.
Other services include nurse case management, social work case management services, and HIV testing.
