The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) is a USDA food assistance program provided to eligible senior citizens through the Salvation Army and the Sioux Falls Food Pantry. CSFP works to improve the health of low-income people at least 60 years of age by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA commodity foods. Those eligible will receive a commodity once a month for 6 - 12 months. The package includes a variety of food including: cereals, canned meat, canned fruits, instant milk, peanut butter, instant potatoes, and pasta products. Delivery is only for those who are home bound or incapable of picking up the box themselves.
