Contributes to the Core Science Systems Mission Area through research and operational activities that enable the understanding of local to global land change. EROS holds one of the world's largest collections of images of the Earth's surface. The Center manages and distributes this data, acquired by civilian satellites and aircraft, to scientists, policymakers, and educators worldwide. This data is used to study a wide range of natural hazards, global environmental changes, economic development, and conservation issues. USGS EROS is open to tours on weekdays. Learn about the Landsat satellite program, view imagery of our planet, and walk the historic halls of the data center. Guided tours available Monday - Friday, 10:00am and 2:00pm. Self-guided tours available weekdays 8:00am - 4:00pm. During inclement weather, please call to make sure the center is open.
An established voluntary non-profit 501c6 membership organization since 1884. Chamber volunteers can serve on eight different committees that focus efforts on programs that support community growth and development. Each address different community and business issues and opportunities. Some programs include Leadership Aberdeen, Aberdeen Gift Card, Chamber for Good and Mental Wellness in the Workplace, just to name a few. The cave is well known for its outstanding display of boxwork, an unusual cave formation composed of thin calcite fins resembling honeycombs.
