Sioux Falls has six ice rinks around the city. Each ice rink has a warming house, limited concessions, vending and skate rentals available. Hours may change, subject to weather. Hours of operation are for the warming house. Those who have their own skates are welcome to skate during normal park hours. **Parents of small children should be especially aware of weather conditions and warming house hours before leaving children at the outdoor rinks when weather conditions are extreme. Children ages 6 and under must be accompanied by someone 16 years of age or older. Sioux Falls has two Hockey Rinks, both are 200' x 85' regulation-size ice rinks with the light levels up to outdoor hockey lighting standards. Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation operates the Midco® Aquatic Center and eight other facilities, including three family aquatic centers, two neighborhood aquatic facilities, two spray parks, and one wading pool. Open swim at aquatic facilities is 1:00pm - 5:00pm and 6:30pm - 8:00pm daily. Children 6 years old and younger must be supervised by someone at least 16. The ratio of children 6 and younger must not exceed five per adult. Spray parks are open 11:00am - 8:00pm. Swim passes are available to buy or renew. Swim passes may be used at any of the following aquatic facilities when open: Drake Springs Family Aquatic Center, daily admission or swim pass Frank Olson Pool, daily admission or swim pass Hayward Park Splash Pad, free Kuehn Park Pool, daily admission or swim pass Laurel Oak Family Aquatic Center, daily admission or swim pass Midco® Aquatic Center, daily admission or swim pass McKennan Park Wading Pool, free Pioneer Spray Park, free T. Courses are divided into six levels, starting with Level 1 for children aged 5 and older who are comfortable standing in three feet of water without support. Please note that successful demonstration of skills from the preceding level is a prerequisite for all levels except Level 1.

The City of Brandon is sponsoring a 3-day, free leaf drop-off Saturday, October 19, Saturday, November 2, and Saturday, November 16, 2024. Bring bags and cans of leaves and leaf mulch to the McHardy Park Parking Lot and dump them into a garbage truck furnished by Marv's Sanitary Services. Only leaves and mulch can be accepted. No branches, no loose leaves, and no tarps accepted. Leaves must be in cans or bags.
