A long-term (up to 24 months) shelter for victims of human trafficking. Victims must be willing to stay at least 6 months. Pathfinder Center is not an emergency short-term shelter.
Mission is to provide a place of refuge for victims of human trafficking from all over South Dakota.
Safety - Women have stable, safe housing and protection from traffickers. They become part of a healthy, safe community of support that provides compassionate assistance while they address pressing legal, medical and emotional needs.
Services and Support - Women receive addiction counseling, job skills/GED classes, emergency counseling and transportation. Services wil also include a crisis hotline, clothing, food and hygiene items.
Self Development - Women learn life skills such as communication, conflict resolution, understanding boundaries, understanding trafficking and trauma, and making safe choices to help them live independent lives.
Cannot accept anyone who is still using drugs or alcohol. If the victim is still using substances/has addiction issues, they must attend treatment prior to receiving services.

The Vermillion Area Chamber & Development Company (VCDC) functions as a Chamber of Commerce, office of Economic Development, and Visitor/Tourism Bureau for Vermillion and the surrounding area. It operates in direct partnership with several other agencies, including the City of Vermillion, University of South Dakota, and the nonprofit Missouri Valley Growth, to better grow the economic prosperity of the area and create a positive environment in which to do business.
Services include business counseling, member marketing, referrals, networking opportunities, ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings, and much more.
The VCDC publishes a semi-annual newsletter informing community of business trends, area news, and new chamber members. The VCDC hosts a community events calendar at and an online business directory of organizations belonging to the chamber on the website.
