This sign-up is for two programs: - Angel Tree - gifts/toys for children Once a child or senior adult has been registered and accepted as an angel, their Christmas wish list is shared with donors who purchase the gifts or new clothing and toys. Provides assistance to local families and individuals during the holidays. Assistance for eligible families includes: Angel Tree Toys (for kids ages 0-14) Christmas Food Boxes Assistance for eligible individuals includes: Christmas Food Boxes Christmas assistance signups will begin in-person from on Monday, November 3 to Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 9:00am to 3:30pm (MT). Friday, November 7th 2025 will run from 9:00am - 6:00pm (MT) at the Salvation Army of the Black Hills office (405 N. Cherry Avenue) Individuals and families can also register online starting Monday, October 27th to Wednesday, November 12th 2025.
Applications for a food basket and angel tree will be taken at the Salvation Army by Carol Dirks and friends. Donors sign-up to adopt a family size of their choice and parents to sign-up for Toy Shoppe for each child in need. The Top Shoppe will run the week of Monday, December 15th to Saturday, December 20th 2025. Parents can come in and shop for Christmas gifts for their kids. They will be given a number and wait in the lobby until their number is called.
Christmas food assistance for individuals and families and Angel Tree gifts for children 14 and younger. Sign up is at The Salvation Army Community Center. - Late applications will not be accepted. Holiday Meals: Call office for information.
Provides a variety of toys for parents/caregivers to choose from for their children. Toy selection is on a first come first serve basis. Toy distribution day is on December 20 from 8:00am - 2:00pm at The Uptown Mall, near JCPenny in the old K9 Bar. This is the only day to pick up your toys - we are not liable if you miss pick up during the scheduled time. Birth certificates or medical cards for each child under your guardianship who is registered are required at check-in. You will not receive a toy without proper documentation. We do not need copies - showing them is proof enough. We will only be distributing toys to those that preregister. The last day to register is December 1 at 5:00pm (MST). Volunteers and business owners helping provide this event are not liable for any incidentals that may occur during this event. All donations are going to Black Hills families.
Christmas meal is open to the public. Individuals will go over to the toy distribution after the meal (701 E. 8th Street). See below for meal and toy distribution times. Serving the hungry and homeless is critically important. We're expected to feed over 3000+ residents including Men, Women and Children in the local community this year. Festivities begin at 11:00am with two chapel services and two meal services. We strongly encourage the community to continue giving this holiday season - either through donating online or donating toy items. Donations of any size will be used to provide healthy meals onsite and for families picking up our food boxes. UGM is still looking for donations for the next several months to prepare for our Christmas holiday services held on December 25. Individuals in need of winter coats, socks, hats, scarves, etc. are welcome to come to The Salvation Army to collect a coat: Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 10:00am - 12:00pm; 1:00pm - 4:00pm Friday, November 7, 2025 from 10:00am - 12:00pm; 1:00pm - 4:00pm This is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Coordinated by The Community Outreach and Center of Hope, provides Christmas gifts to families in need through the support of community churches, businesses, community organizations, and individuals. Families in need of assistance must have a relationship with and complete an application through one of the following referral agencies - Department of Social Services, Inter-Lakes Community Action Partnership, Center of Hope, The Community Outreach, Bright Start, and Sioux Falls Housing, Sioux Falls Coalition, Minnehaha County Human Services, Boys & Girls Club of the Sioux Empire, Compassion Child Care, Caminando Juntos, South Dakota Voices for Peace, Call to Freedom, Helpline Center, New Haven, Sioux Falls Housing & Redevelopment, LifeLine Children Services, Sioux Falls School District (specific school), or home church (specific church). Families may also apply online at the Community Outreach website.
Provides toys/Christmas gifts to youth age 0-18 years old in the Sturgis community. No requirements. Deadline to sign up is Friday, December 12, 2025 Distribution will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 from 5:00pm - 6:00pm, location will be given at sign-up.
This is a free bed program through a partnership with Slumberland. Beds are reserved on a first come first serve basis. Referrals from local agencies are required for families to receive beds. Referrals are to be submitted only by local agencies - not clients themselves.
Angel Tree - Christmas gifts for children that live in and/or attend Beresford schools. The deadline to sign up for Angel Tree is Friday, October 17, 2025. Pick-up date and time will be on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 12:00noon - 4:00pm at the Beresford Public Library. Must be registered before the due date and bring a photo ID for gift pickup.
Project Joy is a non-profit organization, dedicated to providing children and families living in Brookings County, who are in need, an opportunity to receive holiday gifts through the generous donations of others. Applications are available online and on the Facebook page and need to be submitted by midnight on Friday, November 14, 2025. Distribution will be Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Old Sanctuary Wedding and Event Venue. Applications are available for families with a permanent address in Brookings County with children (birth to 18) living in their home full-time. Service is not available to families who have received a holiday gift sponsorship from another organization.

Must be a resident of Lake County. Application deadline is Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Food will be delivered within Madison City Saturday, December 13, 2025. Rural residents will be asked to pick up their food and gifts at the Madison City Armory between 10:00am - 10:30am, Saturday, December 13, 2025. All recipients will receive a letter of confirmation about ten days prior to December 2025. - Angel Tree (gift) program: Gifts are for children. Applications are available at Social Services or Inter-lakes Community Action. Must be a resident of Lake County. Application deadline is Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Gifts to be picked up (or delivered) at the Madison City Armory from 10:00am - 10:30am, Saturday, December 13, 2025.
Share the Warmth is a one-day event to provide free winter outerwear items to people in Brookings County. This extraordinary effort is made possible thanks to local donations and volunteers VOLUNTEER: There are multiple opportunities to help including event set up, day-of support, and clean-up crew! REGISTER: Registration is required but for those who miss the registration, a limited selection of winter outerwear items are available at The Salvation Army office. Providing gift cards for people 60 years old or older who are mainly homebound and/or do not have family for the holidays. A tree decorated with tags will be available at the Lewis Drug store. The tags may be matched with a gift card and returned inside a card with an envelope. ​Gift cards are to be delivered to Lewis Drug between November 11 - December 9, 2025, for prompt delivery to seniors.
