The Center provides a nutritious, freshly made meal served 11:00am - 12:30pm, Monday - Friday at an affordable price. Over 48 activities that are lead by volunteers. Programs include table games (cards, cribbage, mah jongg, Mexican train dominoes), creative writing, pickleball (6 outdoor courts, 3 indoor courts), pool room, fitness area and more.
The Aberdeen Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department provides recreational/leisure services to the Aberdeen Community and surrounding region. This includes 12 city parks (including 3 dog parks), over 20 miles of trails, 2 softball complexes, Fossum Baseball Field Complex, Kuhnert Arboretum, 2 outdoor ice rinks and 1 indoor ice arena. Wylie Park and Storybook Land is one of the primer parks in the region. It includes 2 campgrounds, Miniature golf, go-karts, picnic facilities and bike and skate rentals. At Storybook Land families enjoy a world of imagination inspired by nursery rhymes and featuring the Land of Oz. Also enjoy a ride on the Train, Carousel, Balloon Ride and Roller Coaster. The Recreation Division provides recreational activities year round for all ages including youth ball leagues, youth & adult tennis lessons and leagues, skating lessons, open gyms, recreational skating, cross country ski lessons, and adult basketball and volleyball leagues. Many special events are offered including Family Fun Weekend, Tennis Tournaments, Storybook Land Festival, Winterfest and Holiday Celebration just to name a few. The YAPAtorium Teen Center provides many activities for teens. Other facilities include: Aberdeen Recreation and Cultural Center (ARCC) where programming in the visual arts, dance, music, and theatre occur for all ages. Other areas at the ARCC include the Civic Arena, Civic Theatre, and the ARCC Gallery. The Aberdeen Aquatic Center provides entertainment for the whole family with the lap pool, diving boards, leisure pool with multilevel play structure, 3 waterslides, and the Lazy River. Other activities include swimming lessons, water walking and adult water exercise. Lee Park Golf Course is an 18 hole public course which provides lessons and leagues. Aberdeen Senior Center provides many programs and activities for people over 50 years of age

Designed to provide an opportunity for seniors to become involved socially and physically, and enjoy community events. Provides a wide scope of social, physical fitness, recreational activities, and meeting space. Programs include bingo, weekly dance, card games like Hand and Foot, Pinochle, etc. shuffleboard, potlucks, exercise classes, and art classes. They include: Rails Strength & Fitness - constantly varied, functional movements executed at high intensity, Group Fitness - more than 100 classes a week that are included in membership including specialty fitness classes, InBody Consultation - Body composition assessments for those ages 12+, Personal Training - staff can create a personalized training and nutrition regimen, Wellness Center - cardio equipment and weight equipment, and Lap and Open swim pool schedule/Swim lessons.

Summit Activities Center features an indoor pool with water slide, 2 gymnasiums, 3 multi-purpose rooms, cardiovascular equipment, multi-station weights, free weights, small indoor track, and locker facilities. Summit Activities Center outdoor facilities include 8 lighted tennis courts, an all-weather track, 2 softball fields, a walking path, and an arboretum with many different variety of trees and shrubs. Fantle Memorial Park Pool is located at the intersection of 21st Street and Douglas. Offers an Olympic-sized pool, 2 3-meter high dive spring boards, 2 1-meter spring boards, 2 small water slides, and a Wading pool. The Parks and Recreation department offers a recreation scholarship program for youth under 17 who live in Yankton to attend one swimming lesson and one recreation program per year dependent on class openings and financial and/or personal hardship.

Provides a safe and healthy environment to the citizens of the greater Sturgis area so that they may participate in recreational and entertaining activities, including a 25 yard, 6 lane, indoor swimming pool with diving board, 72 foot waterslide, hot tub, Sauna, outdoor patio, gymnasium, indoor walking and running track, weight room, cardio room, racquetball courts, and locker rooms. The Performing Arts Theater is located within the Community Center and has a 442 seating capacity. The theater hosts special events, conventions, seminars, concerts, and plays. Meeting rooms and a kitchen are also available for rental. The Community Center also provides recreational programs including youth basketball, youth football, youth swim lessons, and adult softball.

​ The James Valley Community Center (JVCC) is a multi-generational community focal point for services and programs in the Mitchell and surrounding areas. The JVCC is a City of Mitchell facility that is dedicated to providing participants with a variety of leisure, recreational, cultural and educational activities in a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment. Some of the many activities include: Cards, Mah Jongg, Darts, Pool Tables, Ping Pong, Shuffleboard, Wellness Education, Exercise, Fine Arts, Dances, Celebrations, Bingo, Community Outreach, Presentations, Bus Trips, Quilting, etc. Also has computer access and internet available for the members to use, or pay the $1.00 daily fee to utilize the computers, Internet, and facility here.
