Weekly programming includes anger management groups, strategies groups, independent living skills training, drug and alcohol education, group therapy and individualized assignments. Individual therapy and family therapy may be offered on an individualized basis according to the treatment team's recommendations. The program also emphasizes the role of therapeutic groups. This environment helps youth learn and practice respect for self and others, develop healthy relationships, set and meet expectations, and take responsibility for creating a safe and supportive community.

An evidence-based and practice informed program that has been shown to effectively influence components of grief and grief recovery. Based on over 40 years of practice dealing with grief and working one on one with grievers, the GRM program helps reduce grief by teaching grievers new skills on how to cope and process grief; how to confront old myths or unhelpful patterns of grieving; how to examine the ways in which grief has impacted their life through detailed assignments and exercises; and how to let go of pain from loss through the timely identification of apologies, forgiveness, and significant emotional statements, all within a helpful, supportive environment. There are 4 programs; 8-week support group, 7-week one on one, 4-week Helping Children Deal with Loss, and 6-week for Pet Loss. Wellness/Brain Health Coaching is a psycho-education program for working with a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, self efficacy, ADD, ADHD, and addictions which address the four circles of health and healing: biology, psychology, social, and spiritual. The PATH (Providing Access to Healing) Program provides school-based mental health counseling services in a partnership between LSS, local school districts, and the Sioux Empire United Way. PATH provides confidential, individual counseling sessions at the school for kindergarten through 12th grade students. Counseling sessions are held in a private room on-site at the school during regular school hours. Every effort is made to have as minimal impact as possible on the students daily routine. Counselors use accepted therapy practices that are appropriate for the student's age and challenges. A counseling session could include talking, art, games, movement, toys, or music as therapy tools. More than 40 schools in Sioux Falls, Harrisburg, Canton, Brandon Valley, Garretson, Dell Rapids, Baltic, Tea Area, Sioux Falls Catholic, West Central, and Tri-Valley are involved. Individual school participation varies.
