DCI/Downtown provides 24 hours a day / 7 days a week overnight residential services to stabilize people experiencing an acute mental health crisis.
Services include crisis stabilization, evaluations and and linking individuals to the services that will allow success in the long-term.
Up to four individuals at at time may stay up to three days.
DCI/Downtown is designated as an Appropriate Regional Facility (ARF) by the South Dakota Division of Behavioral Health.

Based on over 40 years of practice dealing with grief and working one on one with grievers, the GRM program helps reduce grief by teaching grievers new skills on how to cope and process grief; how to confront old myths or unhelpful patterns of grieving; how to examine the ways in which grief has impacted their life through detailed assignments and exercises; and how to let go of pain from loss through the timely identification of apologies, forgiveness, and significant emotional statements, all within a helpful, supportive environment.
There are 4 programs; 8-week support group, 7-week one on one, 4-week Helping Children Deal with Loss, and 6-week for Pet Loss.

The PATH (Providing Access to Healing) Program provides school-based mental health counseling services in a partnership between LSS, local school districts, and the Sioux Empire United Way. PATH provides confidential, individual counseling sessions at the school for kindergarten through 12th grade students. Counseling sessions are held in a private room on-site at the school during regular school hours. Every effort is made to have as minimal impact as possible on the students daily routine. Counselors use accepted therapy practices that are appropriate for the student's age and challenges. A counseling session could include talking, art, games, movement, toys, or music as therapy tools. More than 40 schools in Sioux Falls, Harrisburg, Canton, Brandon Valley, Garretson, Dell Rapids, Baltic, Tea Area, Sioux Falls Catholic, West Central, and Tri-Valley are involved. Youth Residential Treatment Facility Huron | Our Home, Inc.
Psychiatric Residential Treatment Center (PRTF) - Huron, serves male youth ages 10-17 that have identified treatment needs, which are beyond community-based services. These issues may include current or pending legal, school, or family issues. To achieve programming that meets the needs of each individual youth, is evidence based, and easily understood, PRTF-Huron's foundation in programming is based on Positive Peer Culture which emphasizes a therapeutic group milieu which focuses on respect for self and others and development of care and concern. The Positive Peer Culture modality assists in meeting the universal growth needs of youth for affiliation, achievement, autonomy and altruism through improvement in social competence and cultivating identified strengths in youth. The goal for youth in the program is to utilize Positive Peer Culture to guide youth into developing healthier mindsets and coping skills for identified treatment need(s). Youth will also be introduced to additional trauma informed practices, which are complimentary and in accord with Positive Peer Culture to meet individualized treatment planning goals. These practices include various identified clinical assessments, individual and group therapy sessions, and individualized assignments. A multidisciplinary treatment team overseen by a Clinical Psychologist and Medical Director works with the youth and family to design a treatment plan that addresses each youth's individual needs and objectives for success.
