Provides treatment needs assessments for individuals with addictions and mental health challenges. Individual, couple and family counseling for ages 12 and up; all genders welcome. Services are individualized, trauma informed, holistic and strength based. Services are offered both face to face and via telehealth, which can be accessed with smart phone, tablet or computer. Treatment approaches include animal assisted therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), hypnotherapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), brain spotting, and Accelerate Resolution Therapy (ART) and others.
Reiki is available to help resolve emotional and physical distress by allowing healing energy to flow freely throughout the body.

Dakotah Pride Treatment Center - Outpatient Services | Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate - Human Services Department
Detoxification Service: Couteau Des Prairies Hospital will provide emergency, acute medical detoxification services for those requiring these services. A Dakotah Pride Center staff member will provide transportation for detoxification services and a staff counselor will provide motivational counseling for clients who are undergoing detoxification to seek treatment through Dakotah Pride Treatment Center.
Pre-treatment Evaluations: Provides screening, assessment, intervention, and treatment placement. Walk-in Assessments for Substance Use available.
Adult Outpatient Program: Outpatient treatment services are provided for individuals who meet the admission criteria. The objectives of the program are to provide treatment for individuals who require therapeutic and supportive counseling and referral services while living independently, who may have completed inpatient treatment previously but relapsed, or for whom residential treatment is not otherwise possible. The program meets three times a week in three hour long sessions for six weeks.
Adolescent Program: Provides outpatient treatment and continuing care services to adolescents that meet the eligibility criteria.
Prenatal Empowerment Program (PEP): Works primarily with pregnant women who are struggling with substance addiction. A case manager will do addiction assessments, assist with medical applications and applications for Substance Abuse Treatment Centers, coordinate transportation for clients to off-reservation treatment centers, and conduct outpatient group sessions utilizing the Matrix Model to promote healing.
Also, provides continuing care services and DUI offender classes.

MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment) is offered to people who have moderate to severe opioid dependence. Because there is a complex relationship between health, mental health, and addiction, this treatment provides an integrated approach that focuses on the whole person. There are three ways to schedule an appointment with LCBHS:

Referral following a treatment needs assessment from an accredited Substance Use Treatment Provider
Individuals can often be seen on the same day that you call or are referred. Everyone will receive an assessment to determine whether or not MAT is appropriate/to help determine the most appropriate level of care. If MAT is determined to be an option, staff provide education about the different forms of MAT.
Two forms of MAT are offered at LCBHS:
Treatment with Buprenorphine
Treatment with short- or long-acting Naltrexone
A plan is developed with the patient's provider for the specific form of MAT treatment, level of care, and length of service based on your individual needs. Initial drug screening is required as are laboratory studies depending on history and type of MAT. Ongoing random drug testing is an integral part of treatment. Adult group programming for intensive outpatient treatment, early intervention, relapse prevention. Day and evening tracks are available for intensive outpatient treatment. Court-approved provider for chemical dependency assessments, counseling and treatment services. Adolescents can be seen for chemical dependency evaluations, individual therapy and aftercare group.
Specialized counseling services available (individual, couples, family and group therapy) for pain management-related difficulties. Dual-credentialed therapists licensed in mental health and addictions.
