The Chamber plays a role in helping make the community a better place to live. A group of local businesses and residents meet throughout the year to demonstrate commitment to building and maintaining a prosperous community, for those who live there, and for those who may visit or pass through Clear Lake. The goal of the CLCC is to promote and advance the economic, social and moral interest of its businesses and community through strong leadership, networking, education and hard work by its members and other vested community residents. ​

The Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED) works to expand primary job opportunities for all South Dakotans. GOED strives to retain and expand existing businesses, foster new businesses, facilitate business succession and recruit out-of-state businesses. Recruitment efforts are focused on the following targeted industries - Bioscience, Cybersecurity, Manufacturing, Precision Ag, Livestock Development, and Value-Added Ag. The office works closely with community economic development corporations to expand and diversify the state's industry and economy.
