Oversees the following divisions of the City of Aberdeen: Street Maintenance, Solid Waste, Traffic Control, Utilities, the Water Treatment Plant, and the Water Reclamation Facility. These divisions are responsible for the maintenance and improvement of roads and alleys, snow removal, solid waste collection, contracted recycling, traffic control measures, the maintenance of all water main, sewer main, storm sewer, and drainage ways, treatment and conveyance of drinking water, and the conveyance, treatment, and discharge of waste water.

Street Maintenance tasks comprise of street overlay, crack sealing, seal coating, curb/gutter repair, storm inlet repair, service cut repair, street sweeping, pothole patching, gravel road maintenance, minor bridge repair, and winter snow removal activities. The Finance Office houses the following City of Selby departments: Finance (responsible for managing the fiscal affairs of the city, budget development and monitoring, accounting services, cash and asset management, payroll, contract administration, panning and zoning, grants management and financial reporting, city council agendas, long range planning for the City, and special use permits), Parks and Recreation (maintains parks, sports fields, and facilities, provides recreational programming, and manages the Recreation and Aquatics centers, Utilities (public utilities, water, sewer, and garbage collection), and Public Works (streets and sanitation, snow removal, sanitary sewer services, and storm water).

City Administrator - is the funnel for information between the City Council, City Staff, and State and Federal agencies. The City Administrator assists in the preparation of the annual City budget, recommends policy directions to the City Council, oversees long range planning, directing the activities of city departments and carries out all other duties as prescribed. Finance Office is responsible for managing the fiscal affairs of the City. This includes monitoring accounting services, cash and asset management, payroll, financial reporting and utility billing. City utilities include water, sewer and garbage collection services. Planning & Zoning Committee is responsible for preparing and maintaining the City's Comprehensive Plan, administering and enforcing zoning and subdivision regulations, enforcing building codes, and carrying out ordinances for permits and inspection. Building Committee which is comprised of three council members is designated as the building inspector for the City. Together, they review permits and make recommendation to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Parks and Recreation include a swimming pool that is open during the summer months.
