The Weed and Pest department is also under my supervision and work hand in hand with the highway department to protect the ROW, State, and Federal land from invasive plant species, and unwanted pests the most responsible way. Also have authority over private land to make sure landowners are educated and taking care of weed and pests to minimize spreading to others property. Work directly with the DOT, DANR, USFS, BLM, municipalities, school district, and businesses within the county to create and maintain a safe environment and highway system that the taxpayers can use for many years. We also work with Emergency Management and respond to emergencies that are weather and road related.
