The office staff can assist with an aerial view of the property using the Geographic Information System (GIS), or the property owner can access the system on website. This allows allows the user to view, understand, question, interpret, and visualize data in many ways that reveal relationships, patterns, and trends in the form of maps, globes, reports, and charts. A property owner can build in a flood plain, but will need to complete a Floodplain Development Permit Application, to include a flood proof plan. The property can also be built up with fill and the soil compacted to rise above the flood plain.
