Programs/Services: ​Glasses and Hearing aids - funding help with eye glasses and hearing aids for people in the community who need assistance. ​Scholarship - annual award for 1 local (St Mary's Dell Rapids, Dell Rapids Public) high school senior. ​Funding assistance for local community projects - FCCLA National competition, Dell Rapids Boy Scouts, Dell Rapids Food Pantry, Dell Rapids Christmas for Our Kids, Dell Rapids Community Haven, Dell Rapids Special Olympics, Dell Rapids Back Pack Program, Dell Rapids Museum Festival of Trees, etc.

Serves the community by focusing on vision, hunger, environment, childhood cancer, diabetes as well as global needs.

KidSight South Dakota - Working to screen children for eye health. Mobile screening units are available to daycares, preschools and schools on request. - Eyeglasses & Hearing Aid Collection - Glasses are inspected, cleaned, refurbished, and reused by people in need in developing countries around the world. Hearing aids are also refurbished to improve the quality of life for those who cannot afford new technology. In Sioux Falls - drop locations for used hearing aids and eyeglasses are available at every Lewis store or the Foundation office. In Rapid City - any of the collection boxes at the three Boyd's Drug locations. In greater South Dakota, we have drop locations for used hearing aids and eyeglasses in dozens of small towns. Specific Assistance Program - Partners with healthcare professionals to provide vision services (eye glasses) at reduced rates to income-qualified individuals (200% of federal poverty level). Members of Lions International provide global service as the Knights of the Blind working to combat preventable blindness and to provide sight enhancement services to the visually impaired.

Volunteers serving their communities to meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace, and promote international understanding through the Lions Club.

The Lions Club assists individuals who are blind and helps with community education for the prevention of blindness. Sight and blindness are main areas of emphasis. Also active in area of diabetes education and fundraising for different groups. The group also offers screenings for vision to preschool children at no charge. Works with schools, daycares, and health care events.

Vermillion Lions Club collects used eyeglasses and hearing aids as well as provide financial support for both sight and hearing needs (a qualification form needs to be completed). Serves youth by providing scholarships and support local organizations such as Boy and Girl Scouts, HOBY, library programs, and assistance to other community projects as the needs arise. Also, supports community by supporting the Fire and Police Departments, the Edith Siegrist Vermillion Public Library, the W. H. Over Museum, South Dakota Public Broadcasting, Lions Park, The Main (Senior) Street Center and by participating in community events such as the Dakota Day parade and Parade of Lights.

Community service organization that strives to make communities and the world better. Children and vision are of the organizations biggest areas that are served. All of the money that is raised in fundraisers, goes back to various local or worldwide needs.

Service organization which develops community fundraising events including the annual Pancake Days. 100% of the fund generated by Pancake Days stays with local charities and has historically supported the following organizations - Falls Community Health Center, South Dakota Eye Bank, Sioux Falls Habitat for Humanity, SD Lions Sight and Conservation Program, SD Hearing Committee, Siouxland Library & Children's Program, McCrossan Boys Ranch, Serve and Learn Student Association (SALSA) - a group that organizes high school volunteers in our community through the Helpline Center, and The Sioux Falls Banquet.

Organization is interested in preventing blindness, and assisting those who are already blind. Offers education to members on service to the blind. Collects and cleans eye glasses for mission trips in Mexico. Conducts free vision screening for children. Recycle Aluminum to help pay for the community services provided.
