Focuses on empowering people with disabilities to live, work, and participate fully in their communities. Provides training, technical assistance, education, research, and services to promote best practices and build statewide and local community capacity. The team builds meaningful relationships with individuals with disabilities, their families, and the people they interact and work with on a day-to-day basis. Advocates for increased self-determination, independence, productivity, and a healthy and satisfying quality of life for self-advocates and the community at large. Programs and services include: Evaluation Clinics (Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinic, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Clinic, LEND Developmental Clinic, and Transition in Action Clinic), Autism Spectrum Disorder program, Birth to Three Program, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Program, LEND Program, RISE-UP Program, and Oyate Circle Program.

​Specialized therapy (including occupational, speech, behavior and physical therapies) and psychology services for individuals of all ages in Sioux Falls. Therapists provide specialized treatments in assistive technology, seating and positioning, feeding and swallowing, augmentative communication, sensory integration, pediatric bowel and bladder incontinence; visual motor/perception; torticollis treatment; serial casting; behavior management; and screenings and evaluations of Autism.

Serving families of children with disabilities and special health needs for 40 years; services include individual assistance, connection to programs at the local, state and national level, and helps parents and schools navigate the special education process. Staff also deliver workshops in-person for groups upon request. Willing to work with parents and professionals to develop and deliver training based on the needs of the group. Workshops/presentations are delivered at no cost to parents. A nominal fee structure is in place for delivery to professional groups.

Provides therapy in a natural setting where the child is most comfortable with a family-centered collaborative approach. This can be in the child's home, a clinical or daycare setting, or via teletherapy. Offers a wide range of services including: speech therapy, occupational therapy, orofacial myofunctional therapy, dyslexia tutoring, executive function ADHD training, autism communication therapy, social skills, telespeech therapy, feeding therapy (SOS), sensory motor oral behavioral/learning therapy, visual-motor therapy, fine motor skills, coordination therapy, stuttering therapy, articulation training, pediatric/child therapy, parent education, and attention deficit disorder-executive functioning therapy.

Evaluations for dyslexia are provided for students up to age 21 whose parents and or educators are concerned regarding their child's ability to read, spell, and write. Dyslexia evaluations are not provided for those children whose learning difficulty is solely because of low cognition, attention problems, emotional/behavioral problems, autism, or hearing or vision impairment.

Includes the following services - reference information services: on-site by appointment only, by telephone, or email, licensed subscription database access, consumer health, and disabilities collections.

Shares information about dyslexia and offers specialized reading and spelling lessons for children and adults, in-person or remote. Also, Training for Parents provides parents (within a 60-minute radius of Rapid City) with a monthly membership, which gains access to articles, books, and DVDs on the topic of dyslexia, training in the Barton Reading and Spelling System, and materials needed to tutor their own children in reading and spelling.

Provides one on one tutoring for reading and spelling. Lindamood Bell Programs and others are employed by highly trained tutors to strengthen reading skills, remediate dyslexia, Specific Learning Disability, and other academic challenges. These services are appropriate for ages 6 - 18. Scholarship funding may be available to assist in covering the cost associated with services.
