Provides health information services to the state of South Dakota with emphasis on professional clinical information needs and consumer health and patient information. South Dakota Parent Connection is a statewide nonprofit organization that helps families, caregivers, and professionals access information, resources, and support for children and youth with disabilities, special health care needs, and developmental concerns. The organization provides free, confidential assistance to help families better understand educational, health care, and community systems. Staff members work alongside families to answer questions, provide information, and connect them with resources that can help meet their unique needs. Services include assistance with:

• Connecting with local, state, and national resources
• Understanding special education services, IEPs, and Section 504 plans
• Navigating disability-related programs and community resources
• Accessing information about health care and support services
• Preparing for school meetings and improving family-school communication
• Planning for life after high school and transition to adulthood
• Finding educational trainings, workshops, and learning opportunities

Provides one on one tutoring for reading and spelling. Lindamood Bell Programs and others are employed by highly trained tutors to strengthen reading skills, remediate dyslexia, Specific Learning Disability, and other academic challenges. These services are appropriate for ages 6 - 18. Scholarship funding may be available to assist in covering the cost associated with services.

Focuses on empowering people with disabilities to live, work, and participate fully in their communities. Provides training, technical assistance, education, research, and services to promote best practices and build statewide and local community capacity. The team builds meaningful relationships with individuals with disabilities, their families, and the people they interact and work with on a day-to-day basis. Advocates for increased self-determination, independence, productivity, and a healthy and satisfying quality of life for self-advocates and the community at large. Programs and services include: Evaluation Clinics (Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinic, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Clinic, LEND Developmental Clinic, and Transition in Action Clinic), Autism Spectrum Disorder program, Birth to Three Program, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Program, LEND Program, RISE-UP Program, and Oyate Circle Program.

Evaluations for dyslexia are provided for students up to age 21 whose parents and or educators are concerned regarding their child's ability to read, spell, and write. Dyslexia evaluations are not provided for those children whose learning difficulty is solely because of low cognition, attention problems, emotional/behavioral problems, autism, or hearing or vision impairment.
