An addiction wellness nonprofit that provides professional, compassionate peer coaching to anyone impacted by alcohol or other drugs, including loved ones.
Peer coaching is a recovery support system where coaches draw on their lived experiences to help others on their paths to wellness. A peer coach is a wellness partner who provides knowledge, support, skills and accountability, depending on each person's individual needs. Coaches assist with all areas of a person's life, not just the use of alcohol or other drugs.
Sobriety is not required, and members are supported in whatever wellness goals are meaningful to them.

Adolescent substance use prevention, early intervention, drug and alcohol assessments and outpatient treatment for all youth in the Rapid City, Box Elder and area communities.
Lifeways has school-based Addiction and Prevention Counselors in the Rapid City Area School District and limited services in the Douglas School District. Addiction Counselors are also available at main office in Rapid City for all adolescents (public, private and home-schooled) who are experiencing problems with substance use and in need of screening and/or assessment and treatment.

Strategies include: culturally specific experiential camps and weekend retreats, seasonal cultural events, Wicozani Patintanpi (healthy lifestyles) curriculum, Lakota cultural based equine assisted learning and life skills program, and Lakota based sustainable living practices.
They also have a youth led social enterprise program that offers workforce development, job skills training, youth led cultural heritage tourism, entrepreneurial skills development, and and training initiative for youth.

The Carroll Institute adolescent program provides comprehensive behavioral health support. Offers a safe and supportive environment for students in their school to help them develop coping skills, build protective factors, assess safety, and prevent substance use.
The program includes evidence based curriculums for K-12th grade in the area of substance use prevention and behavioral health; substance use screenings and assessments; threat assessments; small group sessions; individual counseling; student-led peer leader groups; school-wide awareness campaigns; and access to an addiction and prevention counselor.
