The Brookings County Finance Office Department has 2 Divisions:
Finance Division:
Accountable for revenue collected by all other county offices and appropriating the funds to the correct revenue account
Bookkeeper of all county finances
Issues distress warrants to the Sheriff in the event of non-payment on state sales taxes or unemployment insurance
Keeps records of Commission proceedings
Fiscal duties include conducting a monthly verification of all bank balances and cash items and making a report of the same to the County Commission.
Preserves any documents, books, accounting records, maps, and other materials deposited in the Finance Office
Keeps inventory of county property
Maintains all Capital Assets records
Notary Public services available. Some fees may apply.
Pays all the bills of the county including payroll
Processes all county liquor licenses
Publishes an annual report of the receipts and disbursements as well as the assets and liabilities of the county
Parking permits application and issuing for individuals with a disability
Application assistance for tax reduction / rebate programs for individuals who are disabled and / or elderly (65 or older)
Collecting fees for property taxes and vehicle licenses (cars, motorcycles, trucks, trailers, commercial vehicles, snowmobiles, and boats)
Election Division
Responsible for coordinating all countywide elections, including primary and general Elections.
Responsible for the master voter registration list for Brookings County.
Residents can register to vote and request absentee ballots for countywide, primary and general elections from the County Finance Office.

Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation operates the Midco® Aquatic Center and eight other facilities, including three family aquatic centers, two neighborhood aquatic facilities, three spray parks, and two wading pools. Open swim at aquatic facilities is 1:00pm - 5:00pm and 6:30pm - 8:00pm daily. Children 6 years old and younger must be supervised by someone at least 16. The ratio of children 6 and younger must not exceed five per adult. Spray parks are open 11:00am - 8:00pm.
Swim passes are available to buy or renew. Swim passes may be used at any of the following aquatic facilities when open:

There are programming and events happening at each pool during the summer, find dates and locations at Siouxfalls.gov/guide.
Swimming lessons are available indoor year-round at the Midco Aquatic Center. Outdoor lessons are available during the summer at various outdoor pool locations. Registration is online. Courses are divided into six levels, starting with Level 1 for children aged 5 and older who are comfortable standing in three feet of water without support. Please note that successful demonstration of skills from the preceding level is a prerequisite for all levels except Level 1.

A volunteer based organization that collects and processes clothing and household goods for placement in a free-cycling setting resembling a retail store. All items are free; if someone can make a monetary donation, there is a box for that, but it is not required.
There are no restrictions as to who may acquire goods from the store as its primary goal is to relieve the stigma of poverty and conserve the earth through recycling.
Donations for the thrift store are accepted, except for mattresses or large furniture items such as appliances and large tables.

Recreation Opportunities - provides a wide range of youth and adult public recreational activities. City recreation exists to provide opportunities for leisure time activities at an affordable cost, usually subsidized by public funds, which are not feasible or easily provided by the private sector.
Forestry - purpose is to preserve and perpetuate one of the community's most valuable natural resource and asset - its municipal forest of trees on public property, including boulevards, parks and other city properties. The City of Brookings is responsible for the planting, care and maintenance and removal / replacement of trees on public property, including city boulevards, parks and schools.
Parks Department - builds and maintains the parks in the Brookings Park system, comprising over 640 acres. The department also cooperates closely with the Brookings School District in building and maintaining joint school / park facilities. A full-time staff, assisted by seasonal employees, provides all maintenance and plays a significant role in developing and constructing new parks.
Licenses to register are carnivals, circus, temporary merchant license for arts festival, and temporary vendor permit for food trucks.
