Builds homes for people in need: Habitat for Humanity builds houses in partnership with volunteers and people in need and then sells the homes to those people in need, known as partner families. Partner families are selected by Habitat based on: their need for housing; their willingness to partner with Habitat; and the ability to pay a 0% interest mortgage. Assists in restoration on exterior of existing homes for people in need: Volunteers (including youth groups), are organized and recruited by Hub Area Habitat for Humanity to assist with the following projects for income eligible homeowners including: Exterior painting or siding, Minor exterior home repairs, or Yard work including: weeding, trimming shrubbery, raking leaves (yard rehabilitation, not lawn mowing). This does not include tree trimming of taking down a tree. Help Build It Center: a store where items can be donated and purchased at discounted prices. Items consist of: light fixtures, bathroom fixtures, furniture, appliances, carpet, wood and tile flooring, windows and doors, paints and stains and other miscellaneous home goods.

The US Marshal office provides court security and fugitive warrants, as well as serve civil process for federal courts, transport and detain all Federal prisoners in South Dakota. District offices are located in Sioux Falls, Rapid City, Pierre, and Aberdeen.

South Dakotans age 60 and older who have an approved application will receive a monthly box of non-perishable food at no cost. Packages include a variety of foods, such as cheese, juice, oats, ready-to-eat cereal, rice, pasta, peanut butter, dry beans, canned meat, poultry, or fish, canned fruits and vegetables, and many times a canned entree such as beef stew or chili. Menus change monthly. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.

​Support Group for Caregivers (those who are caring for family members with Dementia/Alzheimer's) that meet monthly, offering support, education and information to Caregivers. A Respite Room is available for loved ones so the Caregiver may attend the support group meeting. The Memory Care Support Group practices anonymity.

Determines the cause and manner of death through investigations, which may include autopsies, scene examinations, and witness interviews. Additionally, identifies the deceased, notifies next of kin, and ensures proper release of personal effects.

Provides outpatient treatment services to adults with severe substance use disorders. Services include individual counseling, outpatient substance abuse treatment, after care, group therapy, family intervention, cultural practice-based services, and ASAM criteria/Rule 25 assessments.

The program assists with household heating costs for propane and fuel oil July 1 - April 30. For electric and gas, meter readings October 1 - May 15 are eligible for payment. Energy funds are distributed on a first come first serve basis. Applications received after March 31 will be processed for the next heating season. The program is designed to provide a supplemental payment to the primary heating cost of a home. Eligibility and assistance amount is based on household income, heating type and region, and number of persons in household. In heating crisis situations, such as disconnect for primary heating source, refusal to deliver or cash on delivery, eviction (if heat is included in rent), or furnace problems, contact the office for emergency assistance. Provides a support group for individuals with all types of disabilities that are between 16 - 24 years old. Offers fun activities that create a sense of community among participants while also learning about independent living skills.
