These grants assist people to quickly regain stability in permanent housing. Funding for individuals requesting assistance will be based on priority and availability of ESG program funds. Types of assistance include housing relocation and stabilization services, financial assistance, and short and medium term rental assistance which includes rental application fee assistance, security deposit assistance, pro-rated first month's rent, rental assistance up to 24 months, and past due rent and utilities assistance.

The Hamlin County Planning and Zoning Office is contracted with First District of Watertown. Under county ordinance, citizens and businesses are required to obtain a building permit through the Planning and Zoning Office. The Historic Orpheum Theater opened in 1913 as a vaudeville house and seats just under 700 people. The elegant and beautifully preserved theater is known for its superb acoustics and hosts a variety of events including plays and concerts, business meetings, wedding ceremonies and receptions, and much more.
