Eye Glasses and Vision Services | South Dakota Lions Foundation

KidSight South Dakota - Working to screen children for eye health. Mobile screening units are available to daycares, preschools and schools on request. - Eyeglasses & Hearing Aid Collection - Glasses are inspected, cleaned, refurbished, and reused by people in need in developing countries around the world. Hearing aids are also refurbished to improve the quality of life for those who cannot afford new technology. In Sioux Falls - drop locations for used hearing aids and eyeglasses are available at every Lewis store or the Foundation office. In Rapid City - any of the collection boxes at the three Boyd's Drug locations. In greater South Dakota, we have drop locations for used hearing aids and eyeglasses in dozens of small towns. Please call our office for the full list. Specific Assistance Program - Partners with healthcare professionals to provide vision services (eye glasses) at reduced rates to income-qualified individuals (200% of federal poverty level). Auditor and Welfare | Kingsbury County

The County Auditor as the clerk of the County Commission is required to keep records of commission proceedings. The Auditor's fiscal duties include conducting a monthly verification of all bank balances and cash items in the County Treasurer's Office and making a report of the same to the Commission, preparing warrants for all disbursements, publishing an annual report of the receipts and disbursements as well as the assets and liabilities of the County, and keeping inventory of County property. Based on eligibility guidelines, Welfare services include medical assistance and burial and funeral assistance.

Auditor services include: - The Auditor is the keeper of County records and acts as a bookkeeper of County business. The Auditor is responsible for County Commissioner meetings including scheduling, agenda, business follow-up, Preparing the County's budget, Audit bills or other claims against the County and prepare the warrants in payment of these bills, Figuring the mil levy, and Head election officer of the County. Notary Public services available. Some fees may apply. Welfare services include: - Provides both economic and medical assistance to residents of Beadle County on a one time basis. Economic assistance is for current amounts only. No payment for deposits of any kind. Rent, Utility assistance for current bills may be available for water, lights, and heating, and Medical, hospitalization, and burial assistance requires pre-approval if not for emergency services. All other resources must have been exhausted first. Assistance does require payback and county lien is filed until paid in full. Planning & Zoning services include: - Takes applications for building permits, administers the County zoning ordinances and makes recommendations to the Commission for granting or denying the permits. Assist with educational programs, Investigate complaints and zoning violation, Modify county ordinances, Prepare annual department budget and public meeting agendas, Property rezoning and platting, Review concentrated animal feeding operations, and Site plan reviews. Update County Commission and Planning and Zoning Commission on current activities, trends, changes in law, and policies. -

The American Red Cross works in partnership with Military Aid Societies to provide financial assistance to eligible applicants. Assistance can include funds for emergency travel, burial of a loved one, emergency food and shelter, etc. The Aid Societies determine the financial assistance package that will be offered through a grant or a loan.

Auxiliary Emergency Fund | American Legion

A national grant assistance program that provides financial assistance to eligible American Legion Auxiliary members who are impacted by a natural disaster or in a time of financial crisis. Disaster Assistance: Applicants must either received damage to their primary residence, been displaced/evacuated from their residence or experienced basic out-of-pocket emergency expenses. Hardship Assistance: Applicants have to have past due expenses related to their primary residence and/or basic household utilities. Grants are awarded for $3,000 per grantee and one grant (disaster or hardship) will be awarded in a 12-month period.

Human Services Office | Brookings County

Provides limited emergency financial assistance as a last resort for those considered indigent and are residents of Brookings County. The office may assist with rent, utilities, prescription medications, emergency medical expenses, county burials and funerals, and vision referrals. Must reside in Brookings County to be eligible for services. Assistance is not free, any assistance granted will be inputted as a lien by Brookings County and will be required to pay back.

The Castle of Care Specialists Our leading team of greater than 135 pediatric specialists focus on providing clinical services, advocacy, research and education to advance and ensure Sanford Children's Hospital provides the latest in care and services to every child we treat. Children's Miracle Network is dedicated to serving sick and injured children. 100% of the funds raised locally stay local to help sick and injured children up to 18 years of age in eastern South Dakota, southwest Minnesota, northwest Iowa, and northern Nebraska. Funds raised provide direct assistance with meals, lodging, mileage, special formulas, and medications not covered by insurance. Funds also help to enhance programs and services, and purchase the most advanced life-saving medical equipment for use at Sanford Children's Hospital.

The Ryan White Part B CARE Program provides services to HIV positive individuals who reside in the State of South Dakota. Services include the Aids Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), assistance with health care costs, assistance with insurance enrollment and premium payments, and one on one case management/counseling services for individuals who are HIV positive. The HIV Prevention Program is for anyone residing in the State of South Dakota who has concerns about HIV/STD's. Services include information on health care providers and HIV testing services, one-on-one counseling for HIV/STD concerns, free condom distribution, free information regarding HIV and STD's, and information and assistance accessing PrEP.
