HIV Positive Services | City of Sioux Falls Health Department

The Ryan White Part C program helps HIV positive people who live in Eastern SD to access primary health care. All patients who apply for the Part C Program will have access to case management services. The case managers help people with HIV/AIDS find services they need such as medical care, health insurance assistance, assistance with paying for medications, financial help, food/nutrition assistance, housing, referral to substance use treatment programs and/or mental health services, transportation, and other types of services. The Part C Program is a payer of last resort. Patients that are eligible for compensation through other programs, such as Medicare, Medicaid, or private health insurance, must first access assistance through those programs. Funds are available to assist with primary care, lab testing, emergency prescriptions, outpatient mental health therapy, outpatient substance abuse treatment, dental care, transportation, outpatient nutritional services, and medical and non-medical case management. Other services include nurse case management, social work case management services, and HIV testing.

Additional outpatient services that are provided on site include optometry, pharmacy (Prescription Drug Take Back Site, blue drop-box by pharmacy), laboratory, radiology, dental, physical therapy, podiatry, and social services. Oyate Health Center has 2 sweat lodges. Please call for details. Oyate Health Center provides direct health services to Native Americans and provides contract health care services and referrals to those that are eligible within IHS requirements. This means that if a patient is enrolled in a federally recognized tribe or can prove lineage of descent of an enrolled tribal member; the patient may receive direct care services at Oyate Health Center. Prescription Assistance - Any Native American enrolled in a federally recognized tribe can receive prescription expense assistance at any IHS facility.
