Through its community-wide fundraising efforts, the Capital Area United Way helps to support 35 programs and services offered through 14 local United Way funded agencies. Supports Community Impact Programs that help improve the lives of people affected by issues such as health, income and education. Programs include Girls on the Run/Girls on Track serves girls in 3-8th grade and helps prepare them for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. The Community Health Center was established in 1979 with its goal being to remove the barriers, primarily financial, that exist and limit the access of lower income individuals or families seeking primary health care services.  ​Services for the general public include family health, lab radiology, well-child care, immunizations, family planning (including birth control, STD screening and treatment), patient education, and dental care. Services for established clinic patients include outpatient mental health and substance abuse counseling, psychiatry services, transportation assistance (transporter of last resort), and pharmacy assistance to clients of the Falls Community Health Care Clinic.

The CASSP Dental Van provides dental care to under-served children 0 up until their 22nd birthday who meet the following requirements: Do not have a current dental home Have not seen a dentist in 2 years or more in the Aberdeen Area No child is turned away for inability to pay These children are those with the highest need for dental care and have the least amount of resources. This mobile dental unit provides preventive, diagnostic, and restorative services. No child is turned away for inability to pay. However, if their family or guardian have any type of dental insurance, it will be billed by the Delta Dental Mobile Program. An adult must accompany any child seen for dental care as consent must be given for the staff to work with the child. The Dental Van is a mobile unit that travels to communities around the state. This van is in Aberdeen only on specified dates which varies year by year.

​Almost every day, the Delta Dental Mobile Program's dental staff sees a child who is in pain because of untreated dental disease. These are children who, for a variety of reasons, have been unable to access adequate dental care. United Way & Volunteer Services partners with Delta Dental of SD to bring the Delta Dental Mobile Program to Yankton each spring to offer no cost dental care to children ages 0-21. **Pre-registration is required to participate. Registration deadlines vary.

Services include Walk-in Urgent Visits (for both medical and dental), Schedule and same day appointments, Family Practice and Internal Medicine Primary Care for adults, Dental Care for all ages (including teeth cleanings), Sexual and Reproductive Health Services, On-site lab and X-Rays, On-Site Pharmacy, and After-Hours On-Call Provider 365 days a year. Primary and Pediatric Medical Clinic: Most routine medical services and several specialized fields including: physicals, immunizations, preventative medicine, chronic disease management, and counseling. The Ryan White Part C program helps HIV positive people who live in Eastern SD to access primary health care. All patients who apply for the Part C Program will have access to case management services. The case managers help people with HIV/AIDS find services they need such as medical care, health insurance assistance, assistance with paying for medications, financial help, food/nutrition assistance, housing, referral to substance use treatment programs and/or mental health services, transportation, and other types of services. The Part C Program is a payer of last resort. Patients that are eligible for compensation through other programs, such as Medicare, Medicaid, or private health insurance, must first access assistance through those programs. Funds are available to assist with primary care, lab testing, emergency prescriptions, outpatient mental health therapy, outpatient substance abuse treatment, dental care, transportation, outpatient nutritional services, and medical and non-medical case management.
