Hot Meal | Yankton Area Banquet

Offers a free meal and fellowship to anyone who attend. Churches, Community Groups, Service Clubs, and School Groups are welcome to volunteer to provide, prepare, and serve those who come to eat. The United Church of Christ (Congregational) supports the organization by hosting a community meal every week.

Sioux 52 Mentorship Initiative | Helpline Center

The Sioux 52 Mentorship Initiative seeks to unify Sioux Falls area non-profit, business, and faith communities in order to create a universal, significant and long-lasting commitment to mentoring in our city. The goal is to recruit 5,200 mentors by 2026 and for the City of Sioux Falls to become known as the City of Mentoring. Mentoring in our community truly makes a difference and changes lives for the better. Sioux 52 is a collaboration between the City of Sioux Falls, Helpline Center, the Downtown Rotary Club of Sioux Falls, Lawrence & Schiller as well as business leaders and mentoring organizations in the Sioux Falls region.

Public Library | City of Rapid City

Eligible library card holders can check out books, DVDs, audiobooks, games, puzzles, tool kits, park and museum passes, fishing kits, and disc golf equipment. Access eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, and streaming videos through the library's digital collections. Use computers or Wi-Fi, or print from home using the mobile printing app, and pick up prints in the library or at the drive-thru window. Get help with mobile devices - iPads, Kindles, smart phones, etc. Use the library's makerspace to laser engrave, print custom stickers, poster, banners, 3D printing, and more. Enhance job skills or get homework help using the library's online learning resources. Participate in library events for all ages. Get library services at the library's bookmobile throughout the community. The Home Delivery Program helps those in the community gain access to library materials. Provides personalized selections delivered to the patron in their residence. There is no cost for this service. Delivery is limited to residents who live within Rapid City Area School District inside Pennington County. ​Other services include test proctoring, no-cost notary services, faxing, reference assistance, local history resources, and dial-a-story. Community Impact and Volunteer Connections | Capital Area United Way

Through its community-wide fundraising efforts, the Capital Area United Way helps to support 35 programs and services offered through 14 local United Way funded agencies. Supports Community Impact Programs that help improve the lives of people affected by issues such as health, income and education. Programs include Girls on the Run/Girls on Track serves girls in 3-8th grade and helps prepare them for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. Imagination Library provides free books to children, ages 0-5, who reside in Hughes and Stanley counties. Mobile Dental Program helps children who don't have access to dental care. Project H.E.R.O. provides milk tickets and emergency transportation tickets to students to ensure they are healthy and able to get to school on time, and ready to learn; and the Lion's Club Vision Screening. Serves as a connecting place for volunteer opportunities. Agencies share that information through a publication in the paper called Volunteer Connections, as well as in the high school newspaper. Also, helps connects groups looking for a project with agencies needing volunteers.

Activities and Recreational Opportunities | Pierre Area Senior Citizens Center

Members of the Pierre Senior Center enjoy friendship through weekly potlucks which include entertainment from musicians and speakers, Tuesday rolls & coffee, pool, bingo, and cards. The building is used by AARP for income tax preparation for seniors and low-income families/individuals. Flu shot clinics are held here. The facility can be rented for events such as receptions, banquets, meetings, family gatherings, etc. Seats up to 150 with 8 per table. Bus trips are offered two - three times per year. Follow Pierre Senior Center Facebook. Volunteer opportunities - assist with serving weekly potluck, making rolls for Tuesday coffee, and other activities such as serving special meals, gathering raffle ticket prizes and selling raffle tickets, and helping with the rummage sale.
