Bereavement services for family members is also available. Readjustment counseling is offered to make a successful transition from military to civilian life or after a traumatic event experienced in the military. Individual, group, couples, and family counseling is offered in addition to referral and connection to other VA or community benefits and services.

People with disabilities and those with challenging life circumstances can come to Joy Ranch to enjoy nature and participate in horse related activities and other experiences. Joy Ranch is a barrier free and stairway free environment that everyone can access. The general public is welcome to go horseback riding/take lessons, visit an 1880's town, reserve rooms for wedding ceremony/reception and corporate events, stay in a themed hotel room, and take part in meals offered.

Equine Assisted Counseling (EAC) is the combined use of horses, a licensed therapist, and a horse specialist working with clients to address various individual treatment goals. EAC is safe and all activities are done from the ground. No riding is involved.
