SPURS provides therapeutic horseback riding for children and adults with all degrees of disabilities.

Offers Equine Draper Sensory Method Program which identifies specific brain waves and alters them through hemispheric brain and motion sequencing, and is scientifically proven to counter effects from PTSD, TBI, Dementia and chemical addictions. This program is offered to active, reserve, guard, veteran and immediate family members at no cost. Also offers Equestrian therapy and peer support groups.

Equine Assisted Counseling (EAC) is the combined use of horses, a licensed therapist, and a horse specialist working with clients to address various individual treatment goals. EAC is safe and all activities are done from the ground. No riding is involved.

Crisis intervention, assessments, counseling, and case management services that help young people and their families overcome challenges and pave the way for an improved quality of life. Provides support to individuals suffering from mental health issues, alcohol and drug abuse, child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, and crime victimization. Support is also provided to individuals struggling with personality development and relationship issues. Works with children and adults, specializing in helping heal the impact of trauma. Offers Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), art therapy, equine therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Equine-assisted psychotherapy for individuals, families, and groups. Specializes in trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and youth with problematic sexual behaviors. Telehealth available.

People with disabilities and those with challenging life circumstances can come to Joy Ranch to enjoy nature and participate in horse related activities and other experiences. Joy Ranch is a barrier free and stairway free environment that everyone can access. The general public is welcome to go horseback riding/take lessons, visit an 1880's town, reserve rooms for wedding ceremony/reception and corporate events, stay in a themed hotel room, and take part in meals offered.

Community-based counseling center that provide a wide range of social and psychological services, including professional readjustment counseling to eligible Veterans, active duty service members, including National Guard and Reserve components, and their families. Bereavement services for family members is also available. Readjustment counseling is offered to make a successful transition from military to civilian life or after a traumatic event experienced in the military. Individual, group, couples, and family counseling is offered in addition to referral and connection to other VA or community benefits and services.

Through exposure to nature, alternative healing and open communication the program utilizes peer-to-peer support to encourage physical and mental healing. Program includes blacksmithing, leatherwork, equine therapy, massages, hiking, cooking, and yoga therapy.

Staff take on a variety of challenges that veterans may encounter, and if unable to provide direct assistance, will locate resources that can.
