SPURS provides therapeutic horseback riding for children and adults with all degrees of disabilities.

Individual therapy for adults, specializing in trauma, including dissociative functioning and complex trauma. Integrative treatments for trauma, as well as depression/anxiety that has not been responsive to traditional modalities. Mindfulness and self compassion focused approaches improve one's relationship with oneself and others. Seasonal experiential workshops, including equine assisted therapy, are held periodically. Offers assistance with financial, legal, transportation, therapy, treatment, disability claims, and equine therapy to support veterans in their pursuit of a healthy lifestyle. Advocacy services aim to represent veterans on various issues that may be hindering their progress. Staff take on a variety of challenges that veterans may encounter, and if unable to provide direct assistance, will locate resources that can.

Provides equine experiences at Joy Ranch for children and young adults who have been sexually abused.

Equine-assisted counseling is an experiential mode of counseling. Sessions are conducted in an arena with a team including a mental health professional, an equine professional, and one or more horses. It is appropriate for individuals, couples, families, or groups. It is effective for those struggling with symptoms of post traumatic stress (PTSD), moral injury, trauma, addiction, grief and loss, abuse, depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. Team building and professional development workshops are also available. Carissa Palmberg Counseling is partnering with Rock Ranch.

Provides equestrian programs and therapies to individuals with physical, emotional, and/or cognitive challenges (2 years old and up). No equipment requirements, no experience needed.

Through exposure to nature, alternative healing and open communication the program utilizes peer-to-peer support to encourage physical and mental healing. Program includes blacksmithing, leatherwork, equine therapy, massages, hiking, cooking, and yoga therapy.

Offers Equine Draper Sensory Method Program which identifies specific brain waves and alters them through hemispheric brain and motion sequencing, and is scientifically proven to counter effects from PTSD, TBI, Dementia and chemical addictions. This program is offered to active, reserve, guard, veteran and immediate family members at no cost. Also offers Equestrian therapy and peer support groups.

People with disabilities and those with challenging life circumstances can come to Joy Ranch to enjoy nature and participate in horse related activities and other experiences. Joy Ranch is a barrier free and stairway free environment that everyone can access. The general public is welcome to go horseback riding/take lessons, visit an 1880's town, reserve rooms for wedding ceremony/reception and corporate events, stay in a themed hotel room, and take part in meals offered.

Equine Assisted Counseling (EAC) is the combined use of horses, a licensed therapist, and a horse specialist working with clients to address various individual treatment goals. EAC is safe and all activities are done from the ground. No riding is involved.
