Adolescent substance use prevention, early intervention, drug and alcohol assessments and outpatient treatment for all youth in the Rapid City, Box Elder and area communities. Lifeways has school-based Addiction and Prevention Counselors in the Rapid City Area School District and limited services in the Douglas School District. Addiction Counselors are also available at main office in Rapid City for all adolescents (public, private and home-schooled) who are experiencing problems with substance use and in need of screening and/or assessment and treatment.

Children's Services - Provides child centered therapeutic services in the home or office. This program provides mental health services to children with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED). The parents, families, and surrogate families of children with SED participate in all aspects of evaluation, planning and delivery of services. Works closely with child-serving agencies and programs.

Programs include moral reconation therapy class, continued care, and adolescent diversion classes. Also offers CBISA (Cognitive Behavioral Interventions for Substance Abuse) and MRT treatment. Residential program offering 24-hour supervision, intensive 45-60 day program offering addiction recovery therapy. Seeks to meet each youth's educational, emotional, health, and family needs. Services offered include free assessments, mental health evaluation, treatment planning, group and individual therapy, aftercare planning, aftercare groups, 12-step groups, advocacy and referrals.

Provides mental health and addictions assessments, early intervention, intensive outpatient treatment, and aftercare services for individuals, couples, and families. Providers treatment for concerns including addiction, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, adjustment, abuse, spiritual development, emotional management, stress management, family issues, grief, trauma, personality disorders, and relational issues. Medically Monitored Withdrawal Management: Individuals in need of medically monitored detoxification treatment for substance use disorders may participate in our 10-bed program. Individuals may be admitted voluntarily or involuntarily under an Emergency Detainment or Involuntary Drug and Alcohol Committal (IVC). During a short-term stay (approximately 3-7 days), we will provide medical stabilization to support a safe withdrawal and provide recommendations for continued care and treatment after discharge. Sobering Observation for Intoxicated Individuals: Individuals under the influence of alcohol or other mood-altering substances who are in need of observation and support in order to reach a safe level of sobriety may participate in our sobering observation program. Prior to discharge, we will offer connections to community resources and provide education regarding available substance use treatment options.

Provide addictions assessments and mental health therapy to adolescents through adults. Community mental health center offering the following services: Moral Recognition Therapy (MRT) Group for adolescents and adults, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), individual counseling, marriage and family counseling, psychotropic medication management, domestic violence evaluations and follow up services, psychiatric evaluations and medication management. Walk-in assessments are available at the Watertown and Sisseton locations. Also offers and telehealth services.

Detoxification Service: Couteau Des Prairies Hospital will provide emergency, acute medical detoxification services for those requiring these services. A Dakotah Pride Center staff member will provide transportation for detoxification services and a staff counselor will provide motivational counseling for clients who are undergoing detoxification to seek treatment through Dakotah Pride Treatment Center. Pre-treatment Evaluations: Provides screening, assessment, intervention, and treatment placement. Walk-in Assessments for Substance Use available. Adult Outpatient Program: Outpatient treatment services are provided for individuals who meet the admission criteria. The objectives of the program are to provide treatment for individuals who require therapeutic and supportive counseling and referral services while living independently, who may have completed inpatient treatment previously but relapsed, or for whom residential treatment is not otherwise possible. The program meets three times a week in three hour long sessions for six weeks. Adolescent Program: Provides outpatient treatment and continuing care services to adolescents that meet the eligibility criteria. Prenatal Empowerment Program (PEP): Works primarily with pregnant women who are struggling with substance addiction. A case manager will do addiction assessments, assist with medical applications and applications for Substance Abuse Treatment Centers, coordinate transportation for clients to off-reservation treatment centers, and conduct outpatient group sessions utilizing the Matrix Model to promote healing. Also, provides continuing care services and DUI offender classes.
