The Public Works Department maintains and oversees the following areas - parks, sewer, solid waste, streets, snow removal, water, and waste water treatment.

The Public Works Department encompasses a handful of City services such as Parks, Streets, Solid Waste, & Recycling.

Maintenance and construction of all county roads, bridges and culverts - including snow removal.

Public Works Department includes garbage, snow removal, water, and sewer. Garbage services are provided by Sander Sanitation. Garbage day is every week on Fridays.

The Street Department is composed of the following operations: street repair and maintenance (patching, crack sealing, etc.), street painting and marking, tree trimming along boulevards, snow and ice control, fleet mechanics, and facility repair and maintenance.

The Brown County Highway Department, subject to the approval of the county commission, is responsible for constructing, repairing and maintaining county roads including snow and ice removal.

Douglas County Highway Department is in charge of maintain all Douglas County roads/highways.

The City of Arlington provides the following services: Mayor and City Council City Utilities (electricity, garbage, sewer, water) and Street Parks and Recreation City Finance Officer (often a notary public) A community calendar

Services include medical transportation, snow removal assistance, errand helping, senior mentoring, and other volunteer assistance.

City Administrator - is the funnel for information between the City Council, City Staff, and State and Federal agencies. The City Administrator assists in the preparation of the annual City budget, recommends policy directions to the City Council, oversees long range planning, directing the activities of city departments and carries out all other duties as prescribed. Finance Office is responsible for managing the fiscal affairs of the City. This includes monitoring accounting services, cash and asset management, payroll, financial reporting and utility billing. City utilities include water, sewer and garbage collection services. Public Works department oversees the maintenance of the streets, alleys, storm sewer, water and sewer systems, rubble site and airport. Planning & Zoning Committee is responsible for preparing and maintaining the City's Comprehensive Plan, administering and enforcing zoning and subdivision regulations, enforcing building codes, and carrying out ordinances for permits and inspection. Building Committee which is comprised of three council members is designated as the building inspector for the City. Purpose: Provides safe, reliable drinking water, wastewater treatment, drainage, solid waste disposal, and transportation systems. - Solid Waste Division Provides for the orderly, efficient and safe collection, recycling and disposal of waste. - Street Division Operates and maintains a 386 mile transportation system. This department is tasked with supervising new construction. Maintenance of all county highways including removing snow and ice, mowing, patching, and replacing signs. Maintenance of all bridges on Lake County roads and township roads that are not part of the state or city highway system.

Manages neighborhood reconstruction and large infrastructure projects and provides information on utilities. Consists of several departments: The Sewer Department conducts studies to determine sewer rates, maintains the City's sewer system, and keeps a list of companies that are licensed to clean residential sewers within the City. The Street Department manages snow removal and maintains the City's street system. The Water Department establishes water rates, conducts water studies to determine rates and water quality, enforces water conservation policies, and provides information about stormwater.

The Street Division is responsible for over 300 lane miles. The division continuously evaluates city streets, equipment, materials, and personnel in order to provide a safe network of streets, traffic control systems, and mosquito abatement. The division also implements stormwater maintenance programs and responds to citizens' requests and concerns, while operating in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
