Cooperative Parenting and Divorce - Parents can learn the skills necessary to minimize difficulties for their children as their roles change from spouses to co-parents. The group is for divorcing parents who have children. Cost is $130.00 for 8 week course or (2) 4 week courses; includes the cost of workbook. Diabetes Support Group - Covers topics and support related to diabetes. Open to the patient and their family/significant other Infant Loss Support Group - 6 week series support group for families who are grieving the death of a child through miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant death. A 24-hour source of support and information to cancer patients and their families. Reasons for calling the Navigation Center can range from managing symptoms, to finding resources for emotional support, to getting help for loved ones impacted by cancer. Anyone can call the Navigation Center - they do not need to be an Avera patient. Calls are answered by registered nurses and social workers. The Avera Cancer Institute has a registered dietician that can assist cancer patients with eating problems and related nutritional concerns, and offers several cancer support groups (in the Sioux Empire area) including A Time To Heal for All Cancers, Cancer Caregiver Support Group, Look Good, Feel Better, Men's Cancer Support Group, and To Be Well.
