Cooperative Parenting and Divorce - Parents can learn the skills necessary to minimize difficulties for their children as their roles change from spouses to co-parents. The group is for divorcing parents who have children. Cost is $130.00 for 8 week course or (2) 4 week courses; includes the cost of workbook. Diabetes Support Group - Covers topics and support related to diabetes. Open to the patient and their family/significant other Infant Loss Support Group - 6 week series support group for families who are grieving the death of a child through miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant death. Childbirth (in person or online class), caring for a newborn, breastfeeding, multiple blessings classes Weight Loss Support Group - For people who have had any weight loss procedure or are considering one (both online and in person)

Health Connect of South Dakota: Strives to provide all South Dakotans access to qualitative, authenticated, independent sources of health information. Provides South Dakotans with free up-to-date health information on a variety of medical and safety issues. As needed, information and referrals to other organizations who may have additional pertinent information is available along with information on support groups and national agencies. Manages the Sioux Empire Coalition and the Sioux Empire Coalition for Youth and Young Adults and provides facilitation for various evidence based health programs. Reasons for calling the Navigation Center can range from managing symptoms, to finding resources for emotional support, to getting help for loved ones impacted by cancer. Anyone can call the Navigation Center - they do not need to be an Avera patient. Calls are answered by registered nurses and social workers. The Avera Cancer Institute has a registered dietician that can assist cancer patients with eating problems and related nutritional concerns, and offers several cancer support groups (in the Sioux Empire area) including A Time To Heal for All Cancers, Cancer Caregiver Support Group, Look Good, Feel Better, Men's Cancer Support Group, and To Be Well.
