The Yankton Minimum Center is a minimum security male facility. The unit offers several different programs: Inmates work for support services for the Human Services Center, Community Service Projects, and Work Release. Provides a treatment unit with drug and alcohol treatment classes both long term and relapse. Provides GED classes and elective classes for education. A wide range of recreational activities and a variety of religious services.

The County Auditor as the clerk of the County Commission is required to keep records of commission proceedings. The Auditor's fiscal duties include conducting a monthly verification of all bank balances and cash items in the County Treasurer's Office and making a report of the same to the Commission, preparing warrants for all disbursements, publishing an annual report of the receipts and disbursements as well as the assets and liabilities of the County, and keeping inventory of County property. Based on eligibility guidelines, Welfare services include medical assistance and burial and funeral assistance.

Public defenders are provided individuals who cannot afford an attorney for criminal cases, including both magistrate and circuit court, abuse and neglect cases, juvenile matters, mental health committals, and alcohol committals. If a Judge determines an individual meets the financial qualifications for a court-appointed attorney, an attorney will be assigned. Long Term Services and Supports provides opportunities to enhance the quality of life for older adults, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers through home and community based services.
