TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) is a temporary public assistance work program administered by the Department of Social Services in partnership with the Department of Labor and Regulation. PT School: Reduced monthly fare for children to and from school PT Express: During the months of January, February, and March, seniors can ride to unlimited destinations for $2.50 per day.

NARCAN® Nasal Spray (naloxone) is designed to rapidly reverse the effects of a life-threatening opioid emergency. Naloxone is available at various distribution sites throughout South Dakota during regular business hours, free of charge.

The Spink County Museum contains Indian artifacts, machinery and household articles. The museum is air conditioned and a museum curator is on duty during regular hours.

Accepts residential household waste, electronics for recycling, and grass/leaves waste (no branches). All loads to the landfill must be covered and secured per state and county regulations. Different material types are to placed in designated places at the landfill.

For families with insurance coverage, the Department of Health is an in-network provider for Sanford, Avera/Dakotacare, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield. ​Pregnancy Support Services include regular visits with a nurse to share information about pregnancy, to provide assistance in obtaining early and on-going prenatal care from a qualified healthcare provider, and to link women to resources they may need to support a healthy pregnancy. Teaching topics may include: how your body is changing and how your baby is growing; eating healthy and gaining the right amount of weight; warning signs or symptoms that indicate you should contact your doctor; breastfeeding education and support; and caring for you and your baby after delivery. The Watertown and Sisseton locations are also able to provide car seats for all ages at no cost.

Providing in-home care to those who need assistance with activities of daily living. Services include medical assistance such as in-home memory care, diabetes care, arthritis care, respite care, Alzheimer's and Dementia care, hospice support, chronic illness care, and 24-hour care. They can also assist with personal care (i.e. bathing, dressing), companionship, assistance with daily activities (i.e. meal preparation, light housekeeping), and transportation. These services are designed to enhance the quality of life and promote independence for clients in their own homes or community settings.

Provides professional, confidential, and no-cost business consulting services and training to individuals starting or growing their business. As the only library in Lead, it is the primary source for books and literature publications, periodicals, local, regional and worldwide history, children's books, children's events, DVDs and videos, and Free Internet and WIFI services. Donated phones, tablets, and small electronics are collected and sent to 911 Cell Phone Bank, where they are erased and cleaned per federal guidelines. The phones are refurbished or recycled. The refurbished phones are then sent to agency partners to be given to victims of violent crimes.

Stronger Families Together is an initiative to recruit foster/adoptive families in South Dakota. Foster families are needed for children of all ages, sex, race, and ethnicity. ​To apply, Complete the "Commit to Know More" form. Upon completion, the family will be contacted and provided additional information. If an individual/couple chooses to continue the foster parent licensing process, a home consultation will be completed. They will receive more information about becoming a foster parent, and a preliminary safety check of the home will be completed. The next step is preservice training for foster care licensing and/or adoption approval. Upon completion of the training, a final assessment is completed to determine if licensing requirements are met.
