The blood is collected locally, processed locally and transfused to save local lives. Donations can be given at the Bloodmobile or in one of the donor rooms located at Sanford Medical Center, Sioux Falls, SD or Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD. CBB is not affiliated with any other blood bank entity.
CBB provides blood to over 43 local area hospitals (southeast South Dakota, northwest Iowa, southwest Minnesota), including all of Sioux Falls.

A seminar and support group for people grieving the loss of someone close.
Each GriefShare session includes a video seminar featuring top experts on grief and recovery subjects. These videos also include on-location video and the real-life stories of people who have experienced losses like yours. After viewing the video, there is small group discussion about the video.
The group also allows for the opportunity to interact with others who have experienced a loss, learn about their experiences and have the opportunity to share personal experiences related to the loss.

The main Penitentiary facility contains three housing units. The Jameson Annex contains 3 housing units within a secure perimeter and a Minimum Center for inmates on work release and community service status.
Inmate employment within the Penitentiary falls into two basic categories; institutional support and prison industries.
Inmates are offered literacy, Adult Basic Education and GED classes.
The state Department of Corrections provides medical, dental, optometric services, mental health, and chemical dependency services for the adult corrections system. Treatment is also offered for sex offenders.
Video visitation now available. Must be scheduled in advance.

The primary purpose of My Sanford Nurse is to assist individuals in making better health care decisions for themselves and those they care for.

Sad Isn't Bad is a free series of 4 weekly sessions designed to support children and their parents/caregivers who are grieving. After sharing a meal, participants are divided into groups by age; adults, adolescents and children. Children's group facilitators are masters level individuals trained to work with children. Most are school counselors or social workers. Each group session is geared to address the issues of the grieving family.
Sessions are three times per year, once in the Winter, Spring and Fall.

Powerful Tools for Caregivers: This class helps caregivers reduce stress, improve self-confidence, balance their life, better communicate their feelings, make tough decisions, and locate helpful resources. Six class sessions held once a week are led by certified, experienced leaders; class sizes range from 8-15 caregivers.
Savvy Caregiver Classes: Provides training for unpaid family caregivers of people with dementia or related diseases. The small group discussion classes address the progressive impact of the illness and skills needed to manage daily caregiver responsibilities. The six sessions will help develop good care management tools through group discussions, skill building, problem solving, assertiveness training, and brainstorming.
Stressbusting for Family Caregivers Classes: A 9-week program that meets once a week for an hour and a half and offers insights and coping tools to help caregivers manage the stress of caregiving effectively.
Classes are available at both Active Generations locations and virtual.
