Menus meet 1/3 of the Dietary Reference Intakes (DRI's) for the population served. Menus are designed by a Registered Dietitian and are low in fat and sodium. In charge of constructing, maintaining and repairing all of South Dakota's 24,000 miles of county roads and 3,500 bridges. Highway Superintendents, in many cases, also maintain the township roads in their county. In each county, the Highway Superintendent is charged with the direction and supervision of work and keeps record of costs. The Superintendent must approve all bills associated with county road maintenance before payment. Payment for work on county road systems is made from the county road and bridge fund. Also directly involved with planning and development to make responsible decisions that are the best for the county now and long term. Maintain roads, infrastructure and the Public ROW as well as serve as a peace officer to uphold the law related to property, environment, and county ordinance. The Weed and Pest department is also under my supervision and work hand in hand with the highway department to protect the ROW, State, and Federal land from invasive plant species, and unwanted pests the most responsible way. Also have authority over private land to make sure landowners are educated and taking care of weed and pests to minimize spreading to others property. Work directly with the DOT, DANR, USFS, BLM, municipalities, school district, and businesses within the county to create and maintain a safe environment and highway system that the taxpayers can use for many years. We also work with Emergency Management and respond to emergencies that are weather and road related.

Surviving After Suicide (SAS) Class: The Surviving After Suicide Class is designed to help people who have lost a loved one to suicide learn to express and understand their grief. The class will discuss stigma, pain, guilt, and other common experiences of suicide loss grief. This is a ten-week course that provides support for survivors of suicide loss. Each class will focus on a unique aspect of survivor grief and is built for group members to share and support one another through the process. The class is offered three times a year, with sessions starting in January, April, and September. Registration for this class is required. Surviving After Suicide (SAS) Support Group: A monthly support group for people who have lost a loved one to suicide. Survivor information packets are available at no cost. The focus of this group is to connect suicide loss survivors and provide them with a space to support one another. Any survivor, 18 or older, is welcome to attend this group. Registration is not required to attend this group; however, the virtual option does require an email address to send a link to attend the group. This is an open and on-going group available in both in person and virtual settings. The in-person group meets from 7:00pm - 8:30pm, every third Thursday of each month in Sioux Falls. The virtual group meets from 6:00pm to 7:30, every third Wednesday of each month. Surviving After Suicide Events: Support events are open to anyone who has been impacted by suicide loss.
