The program is intended to help individuals and families identify and compare treatment providers based on location, services offered, and level of care.

The ACLU of South Dakota, a national chapter of the ACLU, is a non-partisan organization dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of civil liberties and civil rights. Believes that the freedoms of press, speech, assembly and religion, and the rights to due process, equal protection and privacy, are fundamental to a free people. Seeks to advance constitutional protections for groups that have traditionally been denied their rights, including people of color; women; and LGBTQ+ and Two Spirit people. Carries out its work through selective litigation, lobbying at state and local level and through public education and awareness of what the Bill of Rights means for people of South Dakota. Advocacy / Help Generally, the ACLU of South Dakota only takes on issues that can affect a large number of people directly or involving a small number of people or an individual that could set a precedent that would impact a significant number of people. ​Dakota Plains Legal Services is a private, non-profit organization funded by Congress through the National Legal Services Corporation to provide free legal assistance to eligible persons residing in the service area. Also can help with wills (for possessions), living wills (for medical issues), power of attorney paperwork.

Offers grants up to $250.00 which enables clients to accept work that requires tools, uniforms, licensees, etc.

Regulates land use and development within a county, ensuring orderly growth and protecting property values. Issues building permits, 911 addresses, and assist with applications for plats, conditional use permits, and variances.

The Auditor is the keeper of County records and acts as a bookkeeper of County business. Based on eligibility guidelines, Welfare services include medical assistance, utilities assistance for disconnect notices on heating bills, and burial and funeral assistance.

Strengthening and supporting children and adults through community based mental health, substance use disorder, prevention and recovery support services, as well as psychiatric hospitalization.

The county is a resource of last resort, available only after all other resources have been exhausted. Any applicant who receives assistance will have a lien filed in their name for that amount and will be responsible for repayment of that lien to the County. Requests for assistance with:

• Rent/Deposit

Partial assistance with the current month's rent. Rental deposits are limited to the availability of grant funds.

• Mortgage

Partial assistance of one month's payment if applicant meets program qualifications.

• Utilities

Partial assistance with past due bills for water, electric, natural gas and propane usage. Additional utility charges and fees limited to the availability of grant funds.

• Transportation Costs

Assistance with bus passes or gasoline for verifiable medical appointments or new employment.

• Medical

Assistance may include emergency prescription medications, specialty physician services, hospitalizations, and insurance premiums. Services may require prior approval.

• Burial or Cremation

Pennington County residents without resources or family members to assist.

Provides worship services and Sunday school services.

Includes swimming pool with water slide, basketball court, racquetball court, weight room, cardio room, party room and classroom. Lockers are day use only; no items can be left in lockers. Sauna and hot tub are available and close 30 minutes prior to facility closing.

Provides nutritious meals, companionship, and community support to seniors and individuals in need while empowering them to live independently with dignity in their homes. Consists of a hot meal delivered to their door Monday through Friday from 10:45am to 12:30pm. Menus meet 1/3 of the Dietary Reference Intakes (DRI's) for the population served. Menus are designed by a Registered Dietitian and are low in fat and sodium. Special diets are available upon request; diabetic, gluten free, renal, as well as textured modified servings. Supportive services include: information and referrals, nutrition counseling and education.

Urgent care providing orthopedic care when patients can't reach their regular doctor; for those experiencing injured bones, muscles, and joints. Day, night and weekend hours are available without an appointment or referral.

Provides assistance and online chat to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning individuals for those under the age of 25. Offering peer counseling and resources in cities and towns across the US.

Responsible for the maintenance, inspection, dispatch, repair, testing, and certification of the city's water distribution metering system. Disconnection information:

• The City will shut off water due to non-payment Monday - Thursday before 12:00pm.

Before water is shut-off due to non-payment, the resident receives official notices in the mail and may also receive a voice message. A door-hanger is left on the property after the water has been shut off due to non-payment. Payment must be made (including the past due balance and disconnection charge) through the Utility Billing Division Office (605) 367-8131 before service will be restored. If payment is made by 5:00pm, water service can be turned back on the same business day. This may occur well after 5:00pm. Employees do not/cannot accept payments in the field after 5:00pm to restore service that has been disconnected for non-payment. Payments after hours can be dropped off at the drop box located outside of City Hall at 224 W. 9th Street. (DO NOT PLACE CASH IN DROP BOX)

Financial Assistance: Utility Assistance for past due and disconnection notices including water, lights, and heating. To be screened for utility assistance or for information about current eligibility guidelines, please call 605-342-0982. Non-Financial Assistance Programs: Food Pantry: For those needing assistance with food. Clothing Vouchers: For those needing assistance for clothing. Assistance may only be given 1 time every 6 months. Household Boxes: For those needing assistance with items used to cook and eat a meal. A lease must be shown to the caseworker in order to receive assistance. Assistance is limited according to what is available at the time. Pathway of Hope: Program for eligible families. Long term case management program to help families move beyond crisis into stability and becoming self-sufficient. Families will be required to meet with a caseworker to design a plan to meet goals, needs and objectives (ex. goal setting, assistance getting healthcare, educational opportunities, etc).

Provides safe and secure care and custody to juveniles ages 10-20 who have committed offenses classified as felonies or misdemeanors who are either going through the court system, awaiting placement, or serving a sentence.

Featured health services include AveraNow, kidney care, behavioral health, children's health, dermatology, laboratory, pharmacy, medication disposal, primary care, surgery, urgent care, and urology.

Pharmacy services include immunizations, prescription refills, health screenings, and a medication disposal drop box. - Medication disposal drop-boxes for expired, unused or unwanted controlled, non-controlled, and over the counter medications, including pet medications. Items that are NOT accepted include: trash, regulated medical waste, sharps, syringes, thermometers, hazardous waste, aerosols, illicit drugs, or commercial waste.

Provides mass, confession, and absolution services.
