River Cities Public Transit (RCPT) coordinates with all other transit agencies in South Dakota and can facilitate a ride statewide for medical appointments. A domestic violence shelter that offers 24-hour crisis line for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Other services include support groups, court advocacy, shelter for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking along with their children, crisis counseling, cape crisis services, protection orders, supervised visitation, neutral exchanges, food pantry, Common Sense Parenting and Birth to Three Responsive Parenting classes, and life skills training. Works with a local animal clinic to provide safe shelter for pets. Each case is addressed individually and based on whether or not the clinic is able to house the animal.

Providing public transportation via bus rides to the general public, people with disabilities, the elderly and children in Aberdeen, including citizens residing within 2.5 miles of the city limits. ​Rides must be scheduled at least one day in advance of your appointment. Reservations are accepted from 7:00am - 4:00pm, Monday - Friday. Cost per one way ride is $2.00 and cash is accepted by drivers. Freeman Community Transit operates under the management of Brookings Area Transit Authority (BATA) in Brookings, South Dakota. Offers transportation services to anyone within Hutchinson County. Passengers can schedule rides to work, school, medical appointments, shopping trips, and more. Passengers must schedule rides at least one day before transportation is needed. Offers door-to-door service. Freeman Community Transit is a Medicaid provider, and medical transportation may be covered by eligible Medicaid recipients.
