Individual, group, couples, and family counseling for all ages. Issues covered included depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, anorexia, bulimia, healthy weight loss, grief, attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD), chronic pain, family separation, divorce, self-destructive behaviors, self-esteem, abuse issues, anger management, and/or any other mental health disorder including PTSD. ​Offering neuropsychological and psychological testing, biofeedback, eye movement desensitization (EMDR), and EAP (employee assistance program) services and training. ​Group therapy including borderline personality disorder treatment groups including STEPPS, STAIRWAYS, and STRIDES; Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) group; Best Me Group (social skills group for kids 6-10); and pain management group.

Peer based services and resources include online resources at DBSAlliance.org, online support groups, audio and video casts, parent and caregiver support network, advocacy for quality mental health care treatment, and peer specialist trainings. *Currently there are no in-person support groups in South Dakota, although online support groups are open to all.

Understanding Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder: For children ages 5 - 11 and their birth, foster, or adoptive parents. While the parents or parenting team is involved in education, supportive discussion and training, the children will gather in a separate group to work on developmental and behavioral issues. - Mental Health First Aid Trainings: Offered periodically. Participants are taught to assess for risk of suicide or harm; listen non-judgmentally; give reassurance and information; encourage appropriate professional help; and encourage self-help and other support strategies. - Youth Mental Health First Aid Trainings: Offered periodically. A non-profit, volunteer, peer support group. The SMART tools are backed by psychological principles including Rational-Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and positive psychology. Unlike some other recovery programs, SMART Recovery doesn't require a sponsor or a higher power and doesn't require the members to be in a lifelong program. The main focus of SMART meetings is how to abstain from harmful addictions or activities. This includes alcohol, drugs, food, gambling, or virtually any behavior people want to stop. SMART Recovery supports individuals who have chosen to abstain from any substance or activity or are considering abstinence. Abstinence is not required to attend this meeting but is the ultimate goal of the program. If you are intoxicated, you are welcome to listen, but not to share. Individuals can use whatever methods help them to stay sober. This includes harm reduction, medications or other methods. SMART supports the use of counseling or recovery coaching to supplement our recovery program, or use other methods to help us stay sober. Some of these include monitoring through breathalyzers, online tools, reading or attending other groups. Two topics that are not pushed are spirituality/religion, and addiction as a disease. These are personal topics but are not part of SMART Recovery. Meetings are available in face-to-face, online, or hybrid formats.

NAMI offers support groups for those living with mental illness, as well as separate support groups for their families. NAMI also provides a range of educational opportunities and trainings for impacted families, community members and professionals. Many of the offerings are at no cost. Veteran support groups are available at both Vet Centers in Rapid City, Sioux Falls, and satellite office in Sisseton. Groups include a men's Vietnam support group, women's support group, garden group, and Project Healing Waters group. Also offers a combat and military sexual trauma support group and a service building spiritual strength group. Groups are subject to change throughout the year. Must be enrolled at the Vet Center to participate.
