The main focus of Emily's Hope is treatment accessibility, support for families and prevention education. The Emily's Hope Fund, through the Avera McKennan Foundation, is getting people into treatment. Donations help offset insurance co-pays or support the uninsured. Donations will also support the families of those in treatment on a case-by-case basis who are seeing help at the Avera Addiction Care Center. Emily's Hope has developed a K-12 prevention education curriculum that aims to educate children on how substances affect the brain and how substance use disorder occurs. Emily's Hope publishes a weekly podcast on addiction and grief, holds a support group for those who have lost a loved one to overdose/fentanyl poisoning, publishes a blog on grief, and provides the latest news on addiction, overdose and the fentanyl crisis.

Responds to the needs of individuals in the Mitchell area affected directly or indirectly by mood-altering chemical use or dependency through a wide variety of services including treatment needs assessments, detoxification, intensive inpatient and outpatient treatment, first offender DUI courses, adolescent and adult aftercare, adolescent treatment, anger management, moral recognition therapy (MRT), relapse prevention courses, parenting classes, strengths group, CBISA, readiness group for federal probationers, referrals, group and individual therapy, transitional living, and continued care.

Intensive outpatient treatment for alcohol, drug, and gambling addictions including evaluation, individual counseling, aftercare and relapse prevention, and first offender DUI classes.

Provides substance use prevention services through the evidence-based Project SUCCESS (Schools Using Coordinated Community Efforts to Strengthen Students), and provide safe driving presentations through a Highway Safety grant from the South Dakota Office of Highway Safety.

The SEPRC works with others across the state to provide prevention resources, training and technical assistance through program development and training. Offers a 12-hour diversion class for individuals aged 17 - 20 years, designed for individuals who may be making high-risk choices and aim to change drinking and drug use behaviors.

The CWOY Support Navigator program is designed to provide support for American Indian youth, adults, and their families in the He Sapa area who struggle with suicidal thoughts or behaviors. CWOY Support Navigators act as mentors, advocates, and resource guides for American Indian youth, adults, and families needing support for their healing and personal growth. Services offered include one-on-one mentorship, advocacy, individualized care planning, outings, activities and workshops, transportation to appointments, collaboration with behavioral health resources, coordination for success in academic programs, communication with family members, connecting participants to peer and community programs in support of healing goals, skill-building, mental health counseling, and therapeutic circles.

Alcohol and Drug Program treatment approach is based on the 12-step program of Alcoholics Anonymous and reality therapy. Services offered include individual counseling, chemical assessments, DUI education program, outpatient treatment, prevention education program, and a relapse prevention group. Case Management and IMPACT Programs, designed to help clients with severe and persistent mental illness, services include case management and continued care, medication management with psychiatrist, crisis intervention assistance, and psychiatric rehabilitation which seeks to provide program services that assist clients in developing skills and manage resources needed to allow them to be successful in the community. A client centered, client directed form of treatment, the program consists of services designed to restore the disabled person to a level of functioning which permits a useful, meaningful life.

The Counseling Center offers the following services (all services based on eligibility and priority needs): Substance abuse services include screening, intake, evaluation, referrals, aftercare, primary prevention programs, education, MRT/SBISA classes, and group counseling. ​Mental health services include couples therapy, family therapy, individual therapy, group therapy, Education, Referrals, and Psychological evaluations and services.

The WPRC seeks to divert or delay those we serve from substance use and other high-risk behaviors to promote choices/behaviors resulting in lifelong mind and body wellness. The WPRC primarily focuses prevention support services to stakeholders in South Dakota's 22 westernmost counties, but often serves an even broader audience. Offers Telehealth counseling services for rural South Dakotans to have access to an outpatient therapist via smart phone, tablet or computer. Call to schedule a session via confidential/secure HIPAA compliant video technology. Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - can provide trainings, classes/groups or counseling for employees. Youth prevention program focuses on issues of addiction, violence, promiscuity, and suicide. Other programs include: Lakota Circles of Hope, Disaster Relief and Uplifting Parents.
