Carroll Institute Project Awareness Prevention Program contracts with area school districts to provide evidence-based prevention programming in the classroom K-12th grade by counselors trained in working with adolescents with varying backgrounds in prevention, school counseling, and mental health counseling. Provides assessments and screening to students with referral services to appropriate levels of care. Diversion Program available for young adults ages 18-20 with no substance use diagnosis outside of tobacco use.

Certified Interventionist by ARISE providing interventions. The goal is to urge the addicted or impaired person and family to accept help and get on a path to recovery. It is designed to help a loved one recognize and change self-destructive thoughts, feelings or behaviors. The intent is to confront the person in a non-threatening way. Also includes sober coaching, sober transportation, continuum of care, and public speaking.

Provides monthly collaborative meetings identifying resources and needs within the recovery communities. Variety of meetings available including: Systems of Native Community Health- Board Meeting; Medicine Wheel; Anpetu Waste Oyate Okolakiciye Prevention Coalition Family and Friends; and Wellbriety. Provides information and education regarding root causes, particularly unresolved trauma and grief and provides technical assistance and technical training to tribal, local, county, state, regional entities, and community profit and non-profit organizations and agencies. The Coalition seeks to increase community awareness of substance use and related problems by informing parents and other community members about the issue. Strategies include: culturally specific experiential camps and weekend retreats, seasonal cultural events, Wicozani Patintanpi (healthy lifestyles) curriculum, Lakota cultural based equine assisted learning and life skills program, and Lakota based sustainable living practices. They also have a youth led social enterprise program that offers workforce development, job skills training, youth led cultural heritage tourism, entrepreneurial skills development, and and training initiative for youth.

The main focus of Emily's Hope is treatment accessibility, support for families and prevention education. The Emily's Hope Fund, through the Avera McKennan Foundation, is getting people into treatment. Donations help offset insurance co-pays or support the uninsured. Donations will also support the families of those in treatment on a case-by-case basis who are seeing help at the Avera Addiction Care Center. Emily's Hope has developed a K-12 prevention education curriculum that aims to educate children on how substances affect the brain and how substance use disorder occurs. Emily's Hope publishes a weekly podcast on addiction and grief, holds a support group for those who have lost a loved one to overdose/fentanyl poisoning, publishes a blog on grief, and provides the latest news on addiction, overdose and the fentanyl crisis.

Provides assistance to victims and survivors of drunk and drugged driving crashes. Services may include emotional support, victim events, Support groups, Literature, Guidance through the justice systems, Information and referrals, and 24-hour national Help Line for victims of substance impaired driving crashes. ​ MADD Victim Advocates may be able to provide assistance in completing applications for Crime Victim Compensation, a state program that assists with expenses that have occurred due to a crime. They may offer court accompaniment, court case monitoring, and assistance in preparing Victim Impact Statements as well as parole hearing statements, and other services. Support services are available for adult and children victims, survivors and families and friends who have been impacted by an impaired driving crash.
