The office also works with owner occupied applications, discretionary formulas, elderly and disabled assessment freezes, renewable energy credits, tax moratoriums, TIF districts, and Veteran's property tax relief programs.

Responsible for the accurate assessment and classification of just over 10,000 parcels in Hutchinson County. Other duties include providing equalization between classes of property, administering all state laws pertaining to the ad valorem property tax assessment, processing all transfers and plats with the legal owner's names, assist District III with GIS mapping, determining tax exempt status and working through the appeal process with review boards.

Zoning and Planning Services: Establish and enforce zoning regulations which classify land within county, city or other municipal jurisdictions for specific agricultural residential, commercial or industrial uses; and which evaluate, establish rulings upon and hear appeals regarding exceptions to zoning regulations.

Planning & Zoning responsibilities include Issues building permits and 911 Addresses, and assists property owners with plats, conditional use permits, and variances.
