Game, Fish, and Parks has information on fishing, boating, canoe and kayak, and aquatic invasive species across the state as well as Life Jacket Loaner Program, Fishing regulations, Boating roles and regulation, and Tools for fishing.  Life Jacket Loaner Program rents life jackets for free that can be loaned out for up to two weeks at a time. The program is designed to educate the public about life jacket wear and safety and provides a way to get life jackets to those who need them. Life jackets are required by state law for every person aboard a watercraft.

Providing financial assistance to low income individuals who have been diagnosed with head and neck cancer. Patients must have a total household income less than 200% of Federal Poverty Guidelines. They must also have one of the following cancer diagnoses: oral, pharynx, larynx, salivary gland, nasal or sinus cavity, thyroid or upper third of esophagus. Brain cancer and esophagus cancers of the GI junction do not qualify. Assistance includes: prescriptions, nutritional supplements, equipment, lodging away from home, copays for CT and PET scans, and pre-radiation dental clearance. Expenses that are not directly related to treatment and recovery, such as rent or mortgage payments, utilities or other basic need, are not eligible for this program.

Provides education and tools to empower & encourage people in the state of South Dakota receiving Supplemental Security Income(SSI) & Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits to re-establish their self-sufficiency. Works with people who receiving SSI and SSDI benefits who are working or considering returning to work. Information is provided on available work incentives so beneficiaries can make informed choices about work and receive the support they need for a successful transition to self-sufficiency. Individuals must be between 14 years of age and full retirement age.

Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation operates the Midco® Aquatic Center and eight other facilities, including three family aquatic centers, two neighborhood aquatic facilities, three spray parks, and two wading pools. Open swim at aquatic facilities is 1:00pm - 5:00pm and 6:30pm - 8:00pm daily. Children 6 years old and younger must be supervised by someone at least 16. The ratio of children 6 and younger must not exceed five per adult. Spray parks are open 11:00am - 8:00pm. Swim passes are available to buy or renew. Courses are divided into six levels, starting with Level 1 for children aged 5 and older who are comfortable standing in three feet of water without support. Please note that successful demonstration of skills from the preceding level is a prerequisite for all levels except Level 1.

Independent living services provide a living option for individuals looking for maintenance-free living. A variety of services are available that may be included in the monthly fees such as assistance with general housekeeping, maintenance, optional meal programs, scheduled activities, transportation services, wellness programs, social interaction, and nearby staff.

Reviews proposed residential and commercial development projects. Enforces the zoning ordinance. Monitors growth for the better planning for the future of the City.

Alateen is a 12-step program which provides support, understanding and encouragement to friends and relatives whose life has been affected by someone's alcoholism. Provides support, advocacy and a safe environment (through a shelter) to empower adults and children who have experienced domestic violence. Through leadership and education, SafePlace works collaboratively with the community to promote social change and to end violence. Individual advocacy and group counseling provided to those in and out of shelter.

Volunteers serving their communities to meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace, and promote international understanding through the Lions Club. Vermillion Lions Club collects used eyeglasses and hearing aids as well as provide financial support for both sight and hearing needs (a qualification form needs to be completed). Serves youth by providing scholarships and support local organizations such as Boy and Girl Scouts, HOBY, library programs, and assistance to other community projects as the needs arise. Also, supports community by supporting the Fire and Police Departments, the Edith Siegrist Vermillion Public Library, the W. H. Over Museum, South Dakota Public Broadcasting, Lions Park, The Main (Senior) Street Center and by participating in community events such as the Dakota Day parade and Parade of Lights.

The Labor Market Information Center (LMIC)'s purpose is to collect, analyze and provide to the public information on the labor market of the state, such as employment levels, unemployment rates, wage and earnings data, estimates of available labor, employment projections, employment staffing patterns, career planning information, etc. Much of this information is available online. The following items are available to the public: South Dakota Labor Bulletin, South Dakota's Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages, South Dakota Wage Publication, South Dakota Benefits Survey, South Dakota Careerwise, and Community Labor Profiles.

Provides transitional, clinically-managed, low-intensity, open-ended residential treatment program for adult males. Treatment program is designed around an initial 90 day treatment plan. Residents are encouraged to take part in the outdoor operation of the facilities and participate in any of the recreational therapy programs. Intravenous (SP) (IV) Drug Users: Client referrals who are identified as having a history of using drugs intravenously (IV) will be prioritized for admission into this program.
