Reservations are accepted from 7:00am - 4:00pm, Monday - Friday. Cost per one way ride is $3.00 and cash is accepted by drivers. Sioux Area Metro (SAM) provides intra-city public transportation. SAM provides a fixed route transit service for the general public and a Paratransit service for citizens that cannot ride the fixed-route bus. Individuals desiring to utilize Paratransit services should call to set-up an interview to determine eligibility. There are several options regarding how to pay the bus fare: Pay on Bus: Each bus entrance has a fare box where you can pay with cash. Insert your fare into the fare box next to the driver, then take a seat. Make sure you have exact change because our drivers cannot make change. Pay via Phone: Passes can be purchased over the phone by calling Sioux Area Metro and providing a debit card number. - Pay from Token Transit App: The app can be downloaded on a cell phone and individuals can buy and send passes to other individuals through the app. Once the ticket is purchased, show the pulsing circle on the app to the bus driver. Pay from a SAM location: Passes can be purchased from the Bus Stop located at 120 E. 11th Street or the Sioux Area Metro Office, 500 E. 6th Street. Passes may be purchased with cash (change provided) or credit card.

Door to door service provided with one business days' notice. Operating public transit in Butte, Lawrence, Meade, Custer, Fall River, Harding, parts of Pennington County, and Perkins Counties with service from these counties into Rapid City. FlixBus ticket, freight agent and local depot in Spearfish. Vehicles are lift/ramp equipped and meet ADA standards. All the drivers are trained and certified as Passenger Service and Safety drivers by the national transit association and are CPR trained. 700 square foot conference room available for rental.

Takes children to summer school, Splash Central, summer activities, etc. Also offering a PT Passport to children who live within a 3 mile radius of the city for $100 for June, July and August. PT School: Reduced monthly fare for children to and from school PT Express: During the months of January, February, and March, seniors can ride to unlimited destinations for $2.50 per day.
