The Harrisburg Community Garden is a cooperative effort involving the South Dakota Cooperative Extension Service, Harrisburg Park Board, City of Harrisburg, and a dedicated group of volunteers. Public Works manages the Streets, Utilities, Landfill, and Household Hazardous Waste Facility (HHWF) for the city of Sioux Falls. Public Works also facilitate the planning, design, and construction of the city's annual capital improvement plan. The cultural awareness program seeks to develop and enrich the students knowledge of local art, music/dances, and history and increase their appreciation for cultural differences through performances, guest speakers, and classroom presentations. The supplemental vocational/parental costs program provides supplemental funds in vocational education classrooms of students grades 6 to 12 through purchasing of materials such as shop supplies and cultural art supplies, creating science and environmental projects, and reimbursing ACT/SAT testing for juniors and seniors. The student incentive/awards program provides funds for recognition and incentive awards for students at all participating JOM schools.

Medical assistance programs include: ​Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP): Coverage includes such things as doctor, hospital, prescription drugs, counseling, dental and glasses.
